A typical and handsome music from Galicia,
By Cristiano Beck Neviani (Brazil) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Cabo Do Mundo (Audio CD)
Last year I was walking through the way of Santiago, when I heard this sound coming from a bookstore. Then, i've bought this CD, and I loved it so much, that I am looking for the other CDs of this group. It is a beatiful image of tradicional Celtic music in the modernity.

Perfect continuation of Plenilunio,

I love this guys. They perform the galician music I love to listen. Cabo do Mundo is very similar to its predecessor, "Plenilunio", with 3 tracks lasting more than six minutes. It is not strictly traditional music, but traditional music with... The voice of Rosa Cedrón is sweet and fits perfectly with the sounds played by the gaitas and other instruments. As I told them by mail, an outstanding cd and a light to follow. Please, don't hesitate to buy it. And Plenilunio too.

Gallego music at its best,

Listening to this CD will leave no doubt in ones mind that the Gallego people of Northwest Spain are Celtic in heritage, and more related to the Scots/Irish that the rest of Spain. A delight to listen to!An American Gallego

Listen to this music and...if you are like me...your will quickly come to the conclusion that this Galician music is destined for an enthusiastic worldwide audience. Proof positive that the Celtic musical tradition is vibrant and expressive in a way that few others can equal.Slainte...from an Irish / Scot living in Boston.

Excellent Celtic Music from Galicia/Asturias Spain,
This review is from: Cabo Do Mundo (Audio CD)
This is, in my opinion, the most beautiful of all the beautiful Luar na Lubre albums. Anyone who likes celtic music should listen to this beautiful Galician group's music. It is a delight. Listen to the other albums as well. The short song clips here do not do it justice.Beautiful

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cabo Do Mundo (Audio CD)
I had never heard of this group before I stumbled onto this album one night as I was "wandering around" Amazon looking for music. I saw it had good reviews, the samples sounded good, and it reminded me of some of Loreena McKinnett's work, such as Nights from the Alhambra - (Jewel 2 CD + DVD), so I ordered it from one of the Amazon resellers and am even happier with it than I had hoped. The samples didn't really do it justice in my opinion. Great music and excellent quality recording.Personally I could do without track 6, Romeiro ao Lonxe (Scarborough Fair). It's nicely done, but it just seems out of place to me on this album. As a side note, it's all in Spanish. Not just the singing on the tracks with vocals, but the information on the back of the case and everything in the liner notes as well. The seller I used said it shipped from NY, but it actually shipped from Argentina, so when Amazon says it's an import, they aren't kidding. Enjoy!

A refreshing new look into Celtic music,
This review is from: Cabo Do Mundo (Audio CD)
From the first track you have no doubt that this IS Celtic music. When the lead vocalist, Rosa Cedron, sings in the second track, you realize that this group combines excellent players with a singer who has a rich voice, and a great command of the material. This is now one of my favorite Celtic albums. Sadly, Rosa Cedron left the group in the beginning of 2005.
