Cactus 6" Steel Toe Classic Boots 622S 9''

I am a wheelchair user, and I've been trying to find a shoe that is (a) reasonably heavy, (b) comfortable, and (c) nice-looking. I like boots, but the boots I have are hard enough to cause me pain from the limited weight on my legs. Athletic shoes have much more comfortable insoles, but not the weight.

I was really happily surprised with this product. It was better than I'd expected. It's a nice weight -- I can pick my feet up, but the boots help my feet stay on the footrests -- and it is astonishingly comfortable.

It's pretty easy for me to have problems with things on my feet rubbing the skin off. While I recognize that walking around in them wuld be more likely to cause a problem, I've just worn them for several days, and I'm not getting sores anywhere.

I'm not really qualified to judge it as a workboot, but it fits my purpose exactly, and I'm quite happy about that.

This is a comfortable pair of boots. They are insulated as shown in the photos (the stamp). The only thing I am not liking it the... hooks(?) for the lace in the upper section is rough, needs a little filing and it is better then great!

I would not know how these will fair as a work boot though.

These boots are great and wear well. I work on a lot of farms and find them to be comfortable and sturdy,showing very little wear after a year.

The Bad:

(1) It took 2 weeks to get these boots. Probably more of a UPS problem than anything. (2) They are not waterproof, something I should have noticed before ordering. It would not have kept me from buying anyway. I will just go buy some guard for them. (3) They do not altogether look cheap but my car smelled like a plastic factory after the opened box sat in it for 2 hours. Even the cheap smell emanating from just one boot sitting a foot away from me now is nauseating! This brings me to the question of what the heck is "upper leather balance," which is what it says on the inside of the shoes. How does this mesh with the nubuck leather description on the product page? I changed the rating to a 3 because I think these shoes are more manmade materials than anything. This does not necessarily bother me, but just say so in the description. (4) They were a little scuffed in a couple of places, but as we are currently in the middle of a major snow storm, they will get scuffed anyway, and I do not want to wait another month to have them returned to the store and have another pair reshipped, I will keep them.

The Good
(1) They are very soft. So soft that I would warn against anyone who might want these for a work boot. The will NOT protect your feet from harm. (2) They come in my size. I bought a pair of inexpensive boots like these from Wal-Mart about 4 years ago. I finally had to get rid of them last year although I did not want to; I had worn them to a nub since replacements were so hard to find. It took me over a year to find a boot in this style in my 5.5 size for a price I was willing to pay. Wal-Mart has not had the same boot in my size since. And I refuse to wear Timberlands. (3) I bought these for warmth and style to go with jeans and cords. I do not know how warm they will be, but they generally meet the style requirement that I have. If they can keep my feet warm in these blizzards, then I guess I will have to edit my rating to a 4.

I could see myself buying another pair of boots from Cactus if only because the price is reasonable and they have my size.

This style of boot has always been a favorite for its rugged wear and it goes with my humble wardrobe. I happened to find this brand and I decided to try Cactus because I never heard of this brand before and they were not like the typical brands everyone wears like Timberland and what have you. The price was more economical as well. The delivery was on time and I wore them and am satisfied. They aren't the highest quality boots I ever wore but they are what I expect and I am happy with the construction and sewing though I am not sure yet about the quality of the leather but I just opened them and have yet to really break them in. And something that I liked was they gave a extra pair of laces, this kind of good decency makes me want to be a return customer to this brand of shoe a real friend of the workingman

Standing all alone, these boots are really nice. They look good; they are comfortable, insulated boots. The leather is sturdy, the lace eyelets are rugged, the stitching solid, and they look like they will last a very long time.

My two sons needed boots and I ordered one pair of these Cactus boots and a pair of the Caterpillar boots (Caterpillar Men's 2nd Shift 6" Plain Soft Toe Boot). Sitting side by side, the Caterpillar boots are a much better boot. The Caterpillar toes are more squared off, the leather is a higher quality, the color a bit darker and more pleasant, and the overall construction is sturdier. And then there was a big bonus of a Caterpillar bulldozer engraved on the side of the boot. For not too much more money, I think the Caterpillar is a better deal.

This Cactus boot is a good solid value at a very good price. I'm very pleased with this boot. These are not safety steel toe boots.

real nice pair boots made in good old us 90 % has nice as timberland.. hope they get more size 13's in, a wonderful buy, real usa quality !

I ordered this 6" boot, only to find that it is an insulated pair their selling. Nowhere in the description does it tell you this. And being in the middle of summer I will not wear them. They are comfortable though.
