Product Description

The only card game where it's legal to steal! This word game is a lot like Scrabble, except with cards instead of tiles. Build words using the letter cards in your hand. The longer the word, the more points you'll rack up. And just to keep you on your toes, players can steal your word - and your points - by adding their letters to yours to create a whole new word! It's a great new challenge for word game fanatics or those looking to sharpen their mind and build vocabulary. Game comes with 98 letter cards, score pad, and game instructions. For 2 to 4 Players. Ages 7 & Up.

I use this game with a 99 year old lady that I am caregiver to. Her eyesight is not good and she can see the letters easy on these cards. She enjoys word games and puzzles. So I adjusted the rules a little to make it easier. I think she just likes the challenge of making a word :>) We also play Skip bo a lot.

This is a great game. It is a classic - I've watched a few companies market it over the years, and fortunately they've kept it true to its original play. Each player gets 7 cards (there's about 100 cards in the game), and then starts laying down words in front of themselves. There's no scoring DURING the game to delay action - because players are constantly scanning each other's laid-down words, trying to steal those words to modify them into some other word. Example: One guy spells DIG. Another player can steal those three letters, reshuffle them, add E and R and spell RIDGE. But later someone can add 2 more D's and spell GRIDDED. The scoring is at the end of the game. Lots of interaction and banter between players, more so that many other games. It being a card game, it travels easily. My family and friends love this one. If you are a Scrabble or Quiddler enthusiast, you will love Word Rummy. Not only do you make words with your own letters, you can trip up your opponent by stealing their words and adding to them to make new words for you. Be sure to try this card game; frustrate your opponent and enlarge your score by being a legal robber.

this is a very fun game, fast moving, you've got to be quick, and be able to jumble the letters in your head to remake different words by adding just one letter (or more). Great for scrabble fans, fun for kids, its portable, just a deck of cards, you just need a playing surface...fun for a group, or just two. This is a great game! Wish I had heard of it sooner! I will be buying several of these for stocking gifts this christmas.

The only thing missing from this version of Word Rummy is the Wild Card. It's still a great game -- you just have to think a little harder than in the past. That's all to the good.
