Did they even test-play this game?,

This review is from: Tripoley For Kids (Toy)
I bought this game for my daughter because the graphics looked really fun and also because the box says it combines the games of Snap, Fish, and War in a "surprising new way that's fast paced, bright, and easy to play".
Well, I don't think that playing a game of Snap, followed by a game of Fish, followed by a game of War is a "surprising new way". And I also don't think that dealing out an entire deck of cards 3 times is "fast paced". I was expecting those three card games to be meshed together, with a perhaps a little strategy thrown in, but nope. Included in the deck are 4 "stop" cards, and if you get one in the course of play, then you move on to the next card game. So if you're playing Snap, and someone turns over a "stop", then you deal all the cards out AGAIN to play "Go Fish". Well, it doesn't take a math wizard to figure out that in a single deck of cards, with 4 "stop" cards, the odds are that one of them is going to show up pretty quickly. We tried to remedy this by taking all but one of the "stop" cards out. But still, it seems like you spend most of the game time dealing out cards. Because of the "stop" problems, you really don't end up using the gameboard and chips all that much, and it doesn't even fit that well into the game. And it's a shame, because the board and all the little playchips are really cute. I keep meaning to come up with a better game to use all the parts, so it wouldn't be a total waste of money. I hate this game so much. It's frustrating, not fun, slow, and horribly thought-out. It's like the game designers never even played it before they started selling it.

I saw this game in my local store and thought it looked like fun...the colors are bright, the graphics are lively, the description sounded like it could keep kids entertained for a reasonable amount of time so I bought it.
I am sad to say that this "game" is a complete waste of money and time. You would do better to grab yourself a deck of cards and just play fish and war. This game is little more than that and what they used to embellish the game and make it more interesting is in my opinion just stupid. I'm sorry I wasted my money.

Tripoley for Kids: Good, except for damn stop cards!,

I like Tripoley for Kids but I HATE the stop cards! They make Snap last very short! We needed to add rules just to make Snap last! (It was often veeeery short.) I think we needed to add a rule needing 4 or 5 cards to stop, 2 stop cards rule didn't work, 2 players both drew stop cards at the very start! We also added rules not related to stop cards because the game has a few cheesy rules. It's not that durable because you can lose chips (NOT potato chips! Those little cardboard circles with designs on them) and cards. We found a card and chip when listening to "The Black Coldron" and having a snack. I also don't like how they forget the "Go" in Go Fish, making it "Fish". It's educational cuz it teaches old grown-up games. The cards (especially the jacks and heart ace) look stupid, but nevermind that! Overall, great game, but I hate the stop cards. Signed, StoryMaker. "Gotta trust the kid's review!"
