Flavor Name: Curly Wurly 26g Verified Purchase
I've been asking people for years if they remembered the braided chocolate covered candy bar we used to have back in the 70's and 80's? Like myself, everyone could remember the bar itself, but no one had seen one in years or could remember the their name. So I asked a search engine about them and it answered my question and refered me to Amazon, where I could purchace the bars under the name "Curly Wurley". I was very pleased to see that although the "Marathon Bar" had not been produced here in the United States in almost 30 years, I was still able to purchase them under a different name from the good folks at Amazon, and they are delicious, just as I remember from my childhood...YUMMY!! Thank you Amazon!

I loved Flake bars when I lived in England, and I've missed them. In spite of the bad reviews and warnings, I took a chance and ordered them here. Complete waste of money. :( They're obviously made for export as they're covered in Arabic writing. It's hard to even determine where they were made. They say (in English) that they're made *for* Cadbury, but not where they're made. I don't really care so much about that or the inability to read the wrappers, but the quality is AWFUL. They're all dried up, chalky looking, and off-tasting. I tried to finish one, but couldn't get past 2 bites. Now I'm stuck with 5 more that I'd only give to someone I didn't like. I'd give them to some unlucky Trick-or-Treaters, but I don't want them to TP my house. :(

This is a difficult review for me because I love the Cadbury Flake bars. However, the bars I received from Trade Concepts are stale and brittle. I thought I'd cut cost instead of having a friend send them to me. You get what you pay for. Instead of my tasty flakey chocolately bar, I got a flat, pale looking crumbling mess (except for the places where it had melted and fused together). In all Flake is an excellent product. I'd give it 4.5 stars. But you have to be careful of the seller. It might be better to buy them from an import gourmet food store or have someone in the UK (if you know someone) mail them to you. I've learned my lesson.

for those of who remember Marathon bars in the 70's.. this is the closest thing to having that candy bar back again. It's a great choco/caramel treat and I highly recommend it, especially if you remember and miss the other one!!

Imagine ordering chocolate that is supposed to be from England and receiving chocolate wrapped in paper with Pakistani language(Urdu)all over it. Yes, it contained English translation but I didn't order candy from Pakistan. I ordered candy from England thru Trade Concepts. The candy is not "flaky" but rather stale and old and tasted like cheap milk chocolate. If this indeed comes from England, why do the wrappers indicate they are from Pakistan?
I also ordered the "Crunchie" (which is nothing even close to the Violet Crumble from Australia). These too are from Pakistan. The center is not flaky or crunchy or crumbly but rather stale and old.
If you advertise that something is "from England" that is the only packaging it should be in. Because of the Urdo all over the wrappers, I can only assume that perhaps Trade Concepts imports from England, removes the wrapper and then rewraps them in their own wrappers? I'm sure the FDA would be interested in this practice.
I see by some of the other reviews that I was not the only customer deceived.

If you want a Curly Wurly in the US, as with any Cadbury product, you have to look far and wide if you want the real thing, and thankfully this seller (Pharmacy Place) is in the UK, so we got the real stuff. Bliss! Cadbury in the US is NOT real Cadbury - it's Hershey's! (Wrong flavor, wrong ingredients, just...wrong.) Don't accept any substitutes, pay the extra couple of bucks and get the import!

I love Flake. I get it whenever I go to Ann Arbor, as the World Market down there is the closest place that sells it (an hour and a half drive for me). So I know what this is supposed to taste like, and...this is not it.

The candy is stale. I would think this is a seller problem, not Cadbury's...but according to Amazon I'm wrong about that (as I tried to leave seller feedback about the state of the candy).

The thing is, not all of the bars were stale. Also, I've purchased a six pack of these before at World Market, and the six bars came in a packaging clearly made for them. It had the nutritional information on the back, the design on the front, etc. These bars came in a clear plastic wrap container with a big white sticker that said 'Flake 6 Count.' Clearly not the original packaging.

I wont purchase again. I'll hold out for a trip to Ann Arbor. So much for saving myself the hassle.

EDIT: Just wanted to add...there's some arabic writing on the packaging. Maybe I never noticed before, but I've never seen this on Flake purchases I made in an actual store. Just a big disappointment all around.
