I have had these fins for almost a year. I purchased the set locally... The caddis Nevada float tube, the caddis deluxe waders, and the ultralite wading boots. The fins fit and work... I have not had an issue with them with real world use...

Now, with that said, I can understand some of the reviews I see. The straps are flat nylon with a plastic buckle... The fins have circle holes drilled out for them... ?! Crazy, but I got it all to fit. When I wear them, I lock the straps down tight, then wrap the excess underneath the "tight" strap. I have never had the fins come off or unclasped. These fins are very ridged. My boot fits in perfectly.

I am able to move in the water easily enough, but this is my first set of fins, so I don't know if longer ones would work better as another reviewer stated... but I will not rule it out. Seems like they have experience with others. My experience with these is that I am moving in the water and stable. I walk backwards entering the water, but on occasion I have walked forward... I think that would be a little tough with any fins on.

If you don't want to use the straps, you can easily replace theme with something else like rope. Although it has never happened, I would tie a small rope from the back of the fin to my ankle or boot... So if the fin did fall off, you want lose it... Don't want to be caught in the lake without a paddle/fin.

Bought second pair of these for my wife. Reasonable design and effective in the water, based on my experience. While installing boot straps, one buckle pulled off due to bad stitching (right out of the box). Good thing my wife can sew! Side note to Amazon, the item came in a box 3X the size of the flippers....save a tree will ya!

The buckles suck on these things, I mean who designed this? If you do buy, get some rope and just tie them on! A lil common sense goes a long way Caddis.

These are really short, much shorter than needed for use with a float tube. I've purchased a different type of longer fins, and actually can move around a small lake without exhausting myself. I'm really glad I chose to not keep these (and tried a friends identical pair before opening mine.)
