Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com

Jackie Mason is the best thing going in this otherwise negligible sequel to the already-dubious pleasures of Caddyshack. Between the decadent and often senseless jokes, Mason plays a millionaire whose daughter wants to be part of an upper-crust society he has no use for. Directed by Allan Arkush (Rock 'n' Roll High School), there is some snap to the production; but the concept and script run out of juice early on. --Tom Keogh

1.0 out of 5 stars AN ABOMINATION, April 12, 2006
This review is from: Caddyshack 2 (DVD)
This film deserves no rating. It is quite possibly the worst sequel of all time. It was an insult to Bill Murray to have Dan Akroyd carry on his character. This movie sucked and sucked bad. Bad acting, bad plot, and not even close to being funny. They should find every copy of this movie ever made and build a massive bonfire with them.

1.0 out of 5 stars What's another word for putrid?, June 2, 2001

Watching this movie it occurred to me that there is a gaping hole in our legal system. The fact that it is not a crime to steal money from people by capitalizing on the success of a classic movie by making a sequel that is nothing more than an unfunny regurgitation of the original. For a list of the people who should be ashamed of themselves for being involved in this movie, just watch the credits. I can only make two exceptions. It is impossible for me to be disappointed in Jackie Mason. He was blackballed from Hollywood for so long after the Ed Sullivan incident, that I don't begrudge him a payday. A question for the rest of the actors: aren't there any restaurants in your area that are in need of food servers? The other exception is Dan Akroyd. I had a violently physical reaction to his scenes, not unlike the stomach problems that lead to my appendix being removed. How he came up with the character he used for this movie is a bigger mystery than the whereabouts of D.B. Cooper. Maybe Robert Stack, who was in this fiasco, could suggest it as a future episode for Unsolved Mysteries.

In summation, if you are considering spending 2 hours watching this movie, consider doing something more enjoyable, like getting an enema.

1.0 out of 5 stars Only if you're a collector and want to finish your Caddyshack series!, May 24, 2007

Seriously, I hadn't seen this movie for quite some time until a month ago. I bought it, thinking that it would be as funny as I remembered it 10 years ago. I was wrong. Everything falls short in this movie, except for Randy Quaid, who's a scene stealer. I'd only recommend this one for those people who collect movies and want to finish off their Caddyshack collection.
