4.0 out of 5 stars MOTIVATION
The tempo never changes throughout the whole cd. Some of the cadences are a little corny. But I have to attribute my whole aerobic existence to this cd. You can't quit, the other guys will look down on you, especially your first sargeant! You picture yourself with the group, all of you feeling the same pain. 3.0 out of 5 stars Run to Cadence with the Recon Marines
I love running to Marine Corps cadence. Takes me right back to the fleet. I will say they could have done a better job editing this thing. The time in between the tracks isn't consistent with the timing of the cadence so every ditty that comes up puts you on the wrong foot!

This is excellent. My main problem running is that it's too boring. With this CD, the rhythm of the combat boots on pavement keeps me running at a steady pace, and the chants of the drill seargents and responses of the recruits makes it interesting. The only downside is that at 40 minutes, I wish there was a box set with 4 or 5 of these so I could listen to a different CD each day of the week.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for ME! Good for You!, June 9, 2005
This review is from: Run to Cadence with the Recon Marines (Audio CD)
i got all 4 of the Run with marines cd's and the Marching one too. it has greatly increased my run motivation. I can't run without them now. This brings back lots of old memories of my 12 years in the Marine Corps. I feel as though i can go right back in and not miss a beat with the young Marines!I used to sing a lot of those same songs when running my Marines. Oh the memories!

But i didnt even get tired with it on, i just listen, and ignore my legs and learn that i really can go on if i push myself to the limit. I say three times, but those were like four miles each run.

1.0 out of 5 stars run to cadence with the recon marines, September 2, 2011
This review is from: Run to Cadence with the Recon Marines (Audio CD)
If you are a recon marine you will be disapionted with this. It reminds me of some Dark green hip hop singer butchering the national anthem. They took recon traditional songs and changed, moved and added verses that don't fit or ryme or make sense. Some of the songs are insulting to a true recon marine. The worst part is these are to motovate not depress you and the cadence don't even keep in step. Sounds like H&S company and Charlie company office pogs bragging about how bad they aren't. I tried to run to this and had to keep changing step in the middle of the songs. And listening to it just made me mad at the crappy cadence. I am ashamed to have the Recon name attatched to this and I appologize to the true Quiet Operators. Semper Fi Brothers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have for future Marines, December 30, 2010

When I went to Marine OCS, I didn't know any cadence outside of what I'd seen in Full Metal Jacket. Anyone who is considering joining the Marines, enlisted or officer, should brush up on some of these so that you'll be prepared to jump out and wow your drill instructors.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too slow for running, April 21, 2009

I agree with another post that said this is not meant for running. It is set to about a 9 minute mile pace which is a little slower than I think most people who would buy something representing the Recon Marines would expect. Anything out there for a 7 min mile pace?

This is a great CD to listen to while running. Once you play it, you can't stop! In just a few days you know the words and it will help you stay on pace on the run. It makes you feel like you're a Recon Marine. It's a great buy.
