Product Description

Experience the luxury and cutting edge design of Cadillac as you roll down the streets with this 21-speed Cadillac Adventure AVP2.1 men's comfort bike. It features front and rear disc brakes for reliable stopping and a dual suspension, which adds a heavy duty shock absorber to the back wheel in addition to the front fork suspension with 3 inches of travel. In addition to adding to the overall comfort, the dual (or full) suspension system improves traction on bumpy surfaces by keeping the tires in more nearly constant contact with the surface. It features a strong, rust-resistant 7005 aluminum alloy frame that's built to last, but is nicely light. You'll enjoy a comfortable ride over any surface thanks to the padded dual-density seat. It also includes an adjustable stem and half-moon handlebars for added comfort, and to help provide you with an upright riding position. And you'll be the talk of the town with the sleek silver-and-black coloring characteristic of classic Cadillac styling.

5.0 out of 5 stars InitialI Impressions, July 8, 2006
This review is from: Cadillac AVP 2.1 (Sports)
This bike is a great deal. I definitely recommend this bike if you can get it for under $300.

The AVP2.1M does have adjustable front and rear shocks, but they don't have any damping. The front suspension is Zoom Brand(HL corp / Shen Zheng), although I don't know which model. This suspension is better than what you will find on most hybrids.

I found a couple bubbles in the paint, but nothing serious. All the bubbles were in non-cosmetic places and I didn't bother fixing them.

The back cassette is equipped with a megadrive sprocket(one giant gear) for hill climbing. I can't get the megadrive gear to engage, but the bike is geared a bit low for me anyway so I haven't looked into it much.

The tires look like motorcycle tires and don't have a whole lot of grip. I've been running them at 45psi(they take 30-50psi) so lowering the pressure may help a little.

The disc brakes are just great, but both of my rotors were slightly warped out of the box, but you can bend them back.

The wheels weren't perfectly true out of the box, and my back tire had a loose spoke that made a 'sprang' noise when I went over it. This isn't much of a problem if you have a spoke tool. The rims look like they are pretty high quality.

The bike has some silly gages on the handlebar for telling you which gear you are in, I took them off.

The peddles have a rubberized grip, it works much better than I initially thought it would.

The bike is a very comfy ride, it has a nice seat and the shocks do their job well on pavement. The overall look of the bike is great.

If you don't know much about bikes it would probably be a good idea to get a bike shop to put it together for you. You will end up with a much better bike.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good value for the price, January 25, 2007
This review is from: Cadillac AVP 2.1 (Sports)
This is a very well-made bike for under three-hundred (I paid one-fifty pre-Christmas, which was a steal). Very comparable to comfort bikes selling for six to seven hundred at the local bike shops, and none of those have disk brakes. Assembly was easy - took about an hour, and unlike the other person's comments, all instructions were present for the one tricky part, the front disk brake, and that was really a snap. And since all the deraileurs and shifters are pre-assembled and tuned at the factory, the bike was good to go with few adjustments.

Pros - very well made, smooth shifters and quality gearing, sweet ride, all-around disk brakes, and the look on people's face when they realize that you are riding a Cadillac.

Cons - a heavy bike so not great for hilly areas, and no kickstand.

4.0 out of 5 stars great value for $261, September 18, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cadillac AVP 2.1 (Sports)
After researching and visits to the local bike shops, you can't beat this value for a Hybrid/Comfort Bike.

Bike Shops wanted $200 for USED Hybrids w/out disc brakes.

Pros comfortable ride, Smooth shifting, great looks, and you get to proudly tell everyone that you own a Caddy!

Installation easy except for the disc-brakes. Fits perfect on the Allen 3 Bike rack... I just got On sale at amazon! Ordered it 9/9 recieved it 9/14 w/ free shipping.

Cons No kickstand and looks like it will require a rear mount, rotor was bent slightly on rear brake, No water-btl holder.
