A Legend Waiting to Happen,

This is a wonderful album and if you are lucky enough to see the man and the band live you'll be happy to know the fun and energy comes through just the same. The jump/swing tunes are very danceable along with house rockin' songs like ..."Raise the Roof/Rent"..and his voice is as mellow as the notes on his guitar on the ballad, "Memories of Your Perfume". Highly recommended.

Solid blues in steady rotation,

Very solid blues recording. Bassett's guitar work is clean and straightforward and his vocals are infectious and sly. Tight band with generally excellent horn charts. New blues CDs flow into the house every day or so but this one stays in the play rotation. Recommended.

This is my first Johnny Bassett CD . It sure won't be my last.I've neen listening to blues for years, and this is as good as it gets.

Johnny Bassett has it all - great blues guitar technique, great voice, great unweathered material and a great band. Hear him and dance, or at least let your big toe shoot up your boot.
