Not as good as Cleopatra, January 8, 2011
This review is from: Caesar IV (Prima Official Game Guide) (Paperback)
I have played All of the Caesar games, and this one just doesn't compare to the previous versions. Small map you can't build the large complex cities that you could in the older versions. Very slow play also, just didn't run well on a brand new computer.

A must have item!, November 16, 2010
This review is from: Caesar IV (Prima Official Game Guide) (Paperback)
I have always been a manual reading junkie, so I just love to curl up with a good strategy guide on a cold Winter's night.
If you are no stranger to this series of god games, however, you will find the game's interface will slip on like a comfortable old shoe. I always find the strategy guides to shine when they discuss winning strategies for the scenarios. This does the job with tidbits of advice to aid one in developing a winning strategy.
The real surprise comes early on with this Prima edition in that there is a detailed general discussion of city planning along with photos. Creating a "perfect" city in these sims is impossible, but some layouts create better efficiencies for service buildings and food distribution.
Since the "GET" order no longer exists for granaries and warehouses, thoughtful planning will go a long way in preventing constant food shortages which can hamper any city goals.
This guide is a good investment considering the bucks saved on the game itself.

Like this game, January 7, 2010

I played Caeasar II and III an was so excited to try IV but my pc operating system wasn't compatible. Now that I have Windows & I enjoy it. It has a 360 degree view now and is almost like a video game. Takes a lot of handling at first but its ok. I also liked the zoom in feature and you can actually see the people do stuff in their homes.
