5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant
This mellow, catchy and sexy album is one of the best I've ever listened to. I admit I wasn't a Stroke 9 fan before (I didn't particularly like "Little Black Backpack"). However, this album pulled me right in. It is instantly "listen-able". I just got it yesterday and have listened to it 10 times already. A sidenote- I enjoy the version of the song mentioned above on...

I have been a Stroke 9 fan since 1999 and I was extremely disappointed when I purchased this CD. The songs are low quality and will have the listener wondering if this is really the Stroke 9 that they love and always listened to. Do yourself a favor and buy a different CD.

To be honest, when I first got this album I thought it was an album by The Strokes. I had never heard of Stroke 9 before, but this CD totally blew me away. If you're a fan of acoustic guitar, you'll go absolutely crazy over their two part guitar harmonies. So very catchy. You'll have a really hard time getting this album out of your head. Do yourself a favor and get your hands on this album.

This is the best Stroke 9 cd yet. The songs are quite catchy and filled with some really talented guitar work. Buy, download, or in some way get this cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly underrated band, and some great moments captured in this setting, December 16, 2011

A lot of people are really raggin' on this disc because of the sound quality. And this is true, it doesn't have the clear strumming and picking sound you'll hear on either Nirvana or AiC's Unplugged albums, but this is still a great record.
I heard the acoustic version of "Washin' and Wonderin'" (one of my favorite songs off of Nasty Little Thoughts) and was simply blown away. Even acoustic, these songs rock and groove like their electric counterparts. "Little Black Backpack" is given a nice treatment in this acoustic setting, and playing or serenading your crush or significant other with their new version of "Do It Again" will most definitely get you laid. Bass and drums seriously hold it down throughout, and you realize the genius of the band's songwriting!

All sound quality issues aside, this is a great collection of an intimate but still rockin' and groovy set from a seriously underrated band!

"If feelin' this good is a sin, let's do it all over again!"

5.0 out of 5 stars a cd every stroke 9 fan needs, March 12, 2006

If your a stroke 9 fan you probably know that their songs are driven by amazing lyrics, and thats why this cd is as good as it is. It strips down the songs to an acoustic atmosphere that promotes the lyrics that much more. If you liked Nasty Little Thoughts or Rip It Off, then you would like this cd since most of the songs come from those albums. I dont understand how someone could say no to acoustic versions of "letters" or "vacuum bag" or "tear me in two" and also a piano version of "california" which i think is better then the original version.
