I am never disappointed in Halo coffee pods. They are the best, and having a variety is wonderful. Ethical Addiction is strong and fabulous in it's depth and complexity. Not your Average joe. Sumatra Dark is also fine and French Roast is one of my all time favorites. All 3 are great.

Cafe Halo's French Roast, Sumatra Dark pods are a perfect pick-me-up any time of day or evening. The resulting brew is smooth, rich with flavor, dark but not bitter or acidic.

The one important caveat is that these pods are a bit too large for a Phillips Senseo. If an unsuspecting user puts two pods in the double pod holder, for a double cup of great coffee, the unit will not seal properly and the result will be a lot of water going out everywhere but into the pod and the cup. However, I find that if I soak the pods for a few minutes and then massage them into the pod holder, and carefully determine that the pod lid is properly closed, they work great.

I find that the Cafe Halo's resulting cup is as good or better than any of the Senseo pre-packaged pods and a far better value, providing of course that one soaks the pods before using.

I bought these as an experiment - had more or less standardized on the Senseo Colombian blend previously. I agree with the reviewer who found the Ethical Addiction a little rough (but see below). However the French Roast is excellent and smooth, and the Sumatra is the smoothest and richest of the batch - one of the best I've ever tasted. In fact I will be ordering more of the Sumatra. The Halo pods are a little fat for people who like to do a two-pod batch in a Senseo brewer, but can be made to work without wrecking the brewer by wetting the pods thoroughly first.

I might mention that one pod of the Ethical Addiction together with one pod of the Senseo Colombian makes just about the richest two-pod brew with no 'bite' that I have ever tasted.

The French Roast is pretty good, the Ethical Addition I found to be a bit
rough tasting. Haven't tried the Sumatra yet but I do like that type coffee.
I bought this on sale and it is for a good cause which was a factor in my
purchase.
