If the Piano was a Cat, and Your Spine a Ball of Twine ...,
By BOB VANARSDALE (Denver, CO United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Cafe at Arles (Audio CD)
If the piano was a cat and your spine a ball of twine, your frolicsome-quotient would still not be so aptly met as when this disc spins for the first time in your CD player. Peter Noonan's collection of solo piano compositions calls to mind a wild-eyed tabby that has slipped its bell and, tail-twitching, bounces headlong off the walls and ceilings of musical restraint. Cafe is an expression of utter freedom framed only by dazzling keyboard craftsmanship, and exhibiting such skill at the recording arts that you'll wonder why you've never before noticed that pianos, if you really listen to 'em, have triangular ears, long tails, and whiskers. Peter Noonan and his piano-at-play should appeal to everyone trying to escape to the outdoors while keeping one eye on the birdcage.

My twin sons' favorite cd,
By Atlanta S. Visker "Book and music lover" (Indianapolis, Indiana USA) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Cafe at Arles (Audio CD)
My twin sons are almost four years old and have listened to this cd every night of their life. My husband and I received it as a gift, and put it in one night in the nursery because we wanted to listend to something that we would really enjoy as we put our infant sons to bed. We liked it so much that we listened to it every night, and it became an integral part of our bedtime ritual. Now they ask for "Cafe at Arles" by name, or simply say--the "night-night" music.

You should own two copies!!!,
By Felicia Tilford (Zionsville, IN United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Cafe at Arles (Audio CD)
Wow! This one is really amazing. I even flew all the way to LA with it on repeat. . . and I still wanted to have another listen because I hadn't soaked it all in yet. It is positively mind boggling that this is original work. Can any of you write like that??? Yeah, neither can I. But Pete can, so but youself a copy(or two or three) and then give one to all your friends. Simply wonderful in each detail.
