I've used this fan every night for 3 weeks, and I love it so much, I am buying two more for back-up just in case they ever stop making it. Here's what I like about it:

1) You can choose to turn it super-low and have "just enough" air moving about, and it's very quiet. That's great if you don't like noisy fans and don't always want TOO much air blowing at you when trying to sleep or work. In the bedroom, I usually place it across the room on the bureau, set it to low, and I get just the right amount of air and can barely even hear it.

2) You can plug it in or use batteries, so if the power goes out in a storm, you still have a fan that works.

3) The blades are soft, so you can stick a finger in it and not get hurt. And you can adjust the direction of the fan vertically.

4) It has a small footprint and can easily fit anywhere on a desk or nightstand.

5) I love the variable-speed control (like a volume control on a radio). It gives you much more control over the speed of the fan, as you can dial to exactly the speed you prefer. I've never seen that feature on a fan before.

6) I like the 4-hour automatic shut-off so that if I fall asleep or leave the room, I don't have to worry about leaving the fan on too long.

I only wish it came in off-white or tan to blend in with the decor, but the black color isn't bad, as it will stay clean looking. Great little product from Caframo, so keep up the good work. It makes me want to check out their other products to see if they are equally innovative and useful.

Awesome, silent, variable speed little fan. Both cord and battery powered. I have 3 of them as I hate being in stagnant air. Because you can set this to any speed you want, it's good for a little breeze plus the batteries really last a long time.

If you are "heat challenged" like I am, you will love this fan. It is extremely quiet, compact and puts out a great air flow which can be graduated from very low to very high. When the local store that carried them closed, I was excited to find them on Amazon. I have one on my bedside stand and one on my desk at work. I take it to meetings at work, and when I travel. It will go for weeks on batteries, although I keep it plugged in when I can to save on batteries. This is a great find, and a good price.

What a shame.
This was a very fine product.
Silent. Efficient, and well made.
One of those unique little items that
if you left it sitting in some public place
for any length of time, you could forget about
ever getting it back.
With all due modesty I'm guessing that I was
able to purchase one of the final few.

This fan is Grate for it Size .. Runs of AC or Battery .. & good Volume of Air come for this Small Portable Fan .. You better Pick them up as the Supply are running OUT ..

The fans are quite effective and can be used with batteries or through an electrical outlet. They provide some relief but in the recent heat wave they cannot do too much because they are blowing warm are on you. But we are happy we have them.

I absolutely must have air circulation and white noise to sleep, and this fan does a great job of providing those.

Pros:

-variable speed: The speed control is like the volume control on a televison, providing a large range of speeds
-quiet: No obnoxious rattling or vibrating
-battery operated: Doesn't matter to me because I don't take it anywhere, but I can see how that'd be useful. Comes with AC adapter too.
4 hour auto shutoff: Prevents you from wasting battery life.

Cons:

-cheaply made: Shell is made from cheap plastic, and there's hot glue holding everything together in the battery compartment
-4 hour auto shutoff: If you're like me and only use the AC adapter, this feature can be a little annoying. I'd like this fan to be able to run all night, especially on hot nights as my dorm has no air conditioner.

I use this at my desk every day and love it. I would buy the same if it ever died.

Is there any way of finding out when you are able to stock this great product again. I have two and they have been my lifesaver for a few years now and desparately need to buy more.

I selected the Caframo unit for it's efficency and variable speed - sleek design too. Unfortunately the unit came in a large box with totally inadequate "peanut" type packaging. The fan looked like it had been run over with a UPS truck.
I immediatley returned the item - still awaiting credit on my card, from almost 2 weeks ago.I am all about reducing packaging etc., but come on folks why so stingy with the peanuts..? As an aside I regularly recieve high end DSLR camera parts that are VERY well packaged and have zero probelms - even shipping to overseas locations.
Whatever savings ( Eco / $$) were thought to materialze through inadequate packaging,have now evaporated with the additional energy consumed to returned this unusable item
