Superb,
It works. Very efficient use of the heat coming off of the wood-burning stove. You might find where some people state that it doesn't work, that it hardly spins or that it can't even move a piece of paper that you might place in front of it when checking airflow. To those reviews, I state that they did not perform proper placement as placement is the key. My wood-burning stove is an insert to my fireplace and I have my fan located on one of the sides, a few inches from the front and angled a few degrees to the center. The fan takes advantage of temperature differentials, meaning that it needs cooler air as well as hot. Thus, place the fan on the side and not dead center. My particular fan starts spinning (albeit slowly) when the stove's at a surface temp of about 100 degrees F. Spins faster as the stove temp increases. It's very quiet and is designed to move air in a wide dispersion (vs. a more narrow field, like you might get with a high-speed, 120V fan). I like it.

This fan is great. It is small and discreet but really circulates the air. It also doesn't make ANY noise unlike the blower on the wood stove. We use it as an indicator for when to put another log on the fire, too. When the fan slows down-time for more wood! And-it doesn't cost us anything to operate it since it runs off the heat of the fire. Highly recommended.

Cooling down a too-large stove,

I'd seen these for a while, but thought them way too expensive for what they offer. Having put in a big stove in a small area, I wanted a way to move some of the heat around the rest of the room and adjoining hallway. I tried a small ac fan but it blew cool air which wasn't what I wanted.
This fan works well right out of the box, and the way it picks up speed as the stove heats is great. You don't have to bother with turning it off, it doesn't give an unpleasant draft even when right in front of it and it is totally quiet. It does slightly hinder feeding the stove from above, but overall it's a great addition. It makes the room in front of the stove much more comfortable, and the heat is spread out more evenly: just what the manufacturer claims... 2115|RADHXHZ4J9OYU;2115|R11Y8TKJE64NLW;2115|R2PUHG1WV4NTHQ;
