Strange Little Story,

This review is from: Cages: A Short Story (Kindle Edition)
This is a strange, yet compelling, little story (124 KB, 13 pages) and as the author's note states, "I'm not even exactly sure what it's about. But I do know that it's a metaphor for how I've felt most of my life."A young boy, living in some future dystopia, suffers nightly as his parents argue and his father beats his mother. The arguments inevitable center around money. The boy finds a way to get some money in the hope that it will alleviate the endless arguing. Things don't go as expected. If you seek a happy story, this isn't it. Life is messy, stuff happens. Just FYI. Large portions of this text is missing punctuation, deliberately it would seem. Much of the spellin' is colloquial. Profanity is frequent. |
