I can't believe a writer and editor both thought it was a good idea to make a joke out of Caillou throwing a rubber duckie into the toilet. In the book, Caillou's father sees the duck in the toilet and they both laugh. There's no scolding or explanation for why that's a bad idea-- they just laugh. I didn't even want to read that to my daughter-- she's never thrown anything in the toilet before, and this gave her the idea to try it because it's presented as something funny in the book.

My son loves this book, though I think it's just voyeurism: It doesn't encourage him to clean up his toys, but he loves seeing Caillou's toys. ;-)

My 2 year old girl is obsessed with Caillou. Her eyes lit up when she saw this book! The book follows the cartoon exactly.

Cute book. My son loves Caillou and books so we thought it would be clever to sneakily teach him how Caillou puts away his toys and hope maybe he wanted to try it out. It worked a little bit! He also saw the little photos of other Caillou books in the back and said he wanted more like this. He literally chose 5 that he wanted. (So we ordered the Caillou box set for part of his Christmas gifts. It was a great deal!). The only thing I would change about this book is the way it is written. There's a lot of dialogue that switches from Caillou to Caillou's mom to Caillou's dad. The way the dialogue is worded seems like it could be a bit unlear for small children. My son is two. I think if the entire story was just told in third person without the dialogue it would be easier for him to follow along.

All the Caillou books are wonderful. This one tries to instill a little responsibility into Caillou, which is nice, I guess. The colors are bright and cheerful. This shows how parents are trying to make their children pick up after themselves. It also shows about rewards and pleasure being delayed when chores are not completed. Good message, but I want Caillou to get his pudding!

If your kid loves Caillou, they'll love this book! Good pictures, good lessons, and not too long as to lose their attention.

I love this book. It's in great shape and my daughter loves it. She already tries to help pick up her toys more often.
