He is the award-winning author of The Circuit, Breaking Through, La Mariposa, and his newest novel, Reaching Out. He lives in Santa Clara, California, with his family.

Este conjunto de cuentos , es un verdadero deleite para cualquier lector y especialmente para los inmigrantes latinoamericanos que llegan a los EEUU a esforzarse y donde tiene que adaptarse a una nueva realidad. Francisco Jimenez, expresa y nos revela la realidad de los trabajadores de la tierra desde la vision de su ninez , sin perder la inociencia y relatandonos la realidad. Francisco Jimenez's autobiographical account of his working in the fields with his father and brother as a youth allows the readers to see the importance of family, and the impact that a good, caring teacher can have on the lives of students. Although his life was difficult and his family had little money, Jimenez's story is filled with hope and inspiration; he spoke little or no English when he came to the U.S. but became a renowned college professor.
