5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent intermediate-level Spanish-language read, December 5, 2010

This review is from: Cajas De Carton/ The Circuit : Stories From the Life of a Migrant Child [Spanish Edition] (Paperback)
An excellent read for an intermediate-level (third-year?) Spanish student. Narration style is straightforward, vocabulary is basic, and story is easy to follow (yet compelling). Highly recommended by this little gabachino.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing autobiography and story of hope, November 29, 2010

This review is from: Cajas De Carton/ The Circuit : Stories From the Life of a Migrant Child [Spanish Edition] (Paperback)
Francisco Jimenez's autobiographical account of his working in the fields with his father and brother as a youth allows the readers to see the importance of family, and the impact that a good, caring teacher can have on the lives of students. Although his life was difficult and his family had little money, Jimenez's story is filled with hope and inspiration; he spoke little or no English when he came to the U.S. but became a renowned college professor.
