5.0 out of 5 stars Great charcoal grill and smoker
I inherited this grill and have used it so far for smoking ribs and cooking burgers. The grill is quite flexible and allows you to raise and lower the charcoal bed towards or away from the grill easily even when hot. By putting the fire on either end you can do indirect cooking in the middle. It is very solidly made of fairly heavy gauge steel (much heavier than the...

1.0 out of 5 stars you will need to replace every 10 years - rust prone
I have owned this grill for 10 years, I have kept very good care of it, under shelter always. The Grill itself is amazing however, the charcoal bucket/holder will rust on you and fall apart. I contacted the folks from Cajun Grill to tell them I thought it was the weak link on their grill and was looking to get the bucket replaced, I was met with a barrage of accusations...

I have owned this grill for 10 years, I have kept very good care of it, under shelter always. The Grill itself is amazing however, the charcoal bucket/holder will rust on you and fall apart. I contacted the folks from Cajun Grill to tell them I thought it was the weak link on their grill and was looking to get the bucket replaced, I was met with a barrage of accusations about how I must not have taken care of the grill and did I still have the receipt from when I bought it...no way did I have that, so no help for me, even though it was their grill, because I could not show a receipt they would not help me.

Needless to say, it was a very unpleasant exchange with me getting no satisfaction at all. Well you might think, hey you got 10 years what to you want. Well, I want things that I take care of and pay a premium for to last and then when that doesn't happen, I want customer service to help me, not run rough over me.

For the money, get a Komodo grill, something that won't rust. But if you do buy the grill, you will like it, until you have to interface with the Cajuns that built it.

The grill is quite flexible and allows you to raise and lower the charcoal bed towards or away from the grill easily even when hot. By putting the fire on either end you can do indirect cooking in the middle. It is very solidly made of fairly heavy gauge steel (much heavier than the popular Weber kettle grills) and rolls reasonably well. I was impressed with my first results with the grill and certainly will be trying more adventuresome smoking and grilling dishes.
