Cajun Red Cast is by far one of the best mono-filament lines I have ever used. It has extreme abrasion resistance, low stretch, and unlike some other premium lines I have used it actually breaks on the "heavy" side of whatever the rating is. I have used this in various rods and reels from 6lb to 12lb test and it always does the job. Knot strength on it is superior, and I have yet to have problems with tangles and nests with it. If you are a person (like me) who keeps their finger on the line to feel light hits you get some extreme response from the line as well. One note is that it does have a memory after being left in a hot car for weeks at a time, but that memory seems to vanish within the first few casts. Overall a great line at a great price.

Up until recently, I had never used Cajun Line before (not even out of simple bias since I come from a large Cajun family). I was a long time Ande (or sometimes P-Line) user. Traveling recently, I needed to pick up some more line and the nearest shop had this available. So, I picked it up.

Trying it out, at first it did twist up a little (in 14# test) on the first few casts. But, after a while, it behaved beautifully. More importantly, this line is tough as can be. I was fishing in some areas that were brown and muddy water and filled with all kinds of surprises at the bottom, some of which included tree branches, limbs, etc. Got hooked up a couple of times and was able to bring some large branches to the surface without the line even blinking. Strong line indeed. Also brought in a number of redfish, catfish, jacks (crevalle), seatrout, snook and tarpon, never giving me much worry at all, never breaking, holding up just as any fisherman wants. Not just strong line, trustworthy line. Even spooling up some 8# test of this line on a light rod not only made for some really fun fishing, especially with those fish I listed, but also caused me little worry about losing the fish due to a problem with the line. The line held up great.

Spent two weeks straight, fishing every day with this line and by the end of my recent trip using it, was sold. I think it's just about the only I'll use from here on out and have picked up some additional sizes to stash in my tackle bag. Highly recommend it.

The quality was beyond my expectations. Superior hook set. A line I can and do always rely on. Highly recommended.

good line at a good price

kinda disappears in semi-clouded water

*much* cheaper for a huge quantity than found locally!

i order the 4-, 6-, and 8-lb spools...

be advised that the 4-lb test is like gossamer thread! (you get nearly two miles of line for little more than a sawbuck)

It's not a bad fishing line in general, but you can't advertise a casting line that doesn't compare to others. If you're getting this line solely for casting availability, I'd say no. I was using 17# test on a bait caster though. I think I bought 12# on ebay, and the guy sent me 17. Otherwise, it's good stuff. I also use it as a leader at night.

EDIT: I used it on a Penn 10 magtuned, and it works great. I've cast up to 4oz and it works fine.

So I bought this to re-string my reel. It winds nice onto the reel easily. No stretch or give to the line. It goes for about $6-8 at Walmart or Kmart. I actually overpaid by purchasing from amazon this time.

My favorite red line. Easy to see with my poor eyesight in the sun. I've tried other colored lines, but some how this one is different.

I don't know what's the trick with the color red, but since I use this monofilament, bites doubled with respect to the colleagues of fishing. It has low memory, and is highly resistant to abrasion. This fishing line is really a champion. I'll purchase another.
