I wasn't feelin CakeMan @ all. There was no connection for me. I would have loved the story 2 have been more about Big George, and his crew then his son Chris. Jas I liked she was smart, but that was it. There was no love, no swagger in Chris, and that raping Ali was just a sad case, smh. In the beginning some dirt, but then after that it fall off a cliff or something. It...

Great book. Action from the start to the end. This book had me on the edge of my seat. First time reading anything by this author.

Chris King took over Four Four after his daddy Big George end up locked up. His dad was the one running Four Four at first.

Chris started his own crew and set loose with the drugs making sure the have the right people on his side including his new girl Jas his cousin Vic and some of his dad's old crew friends.

But, running Four Four got Chris noticed and it also got enemies of his own including the enemy that his dad had beef with before his dad got locked up. Ali was a rapist and a well know drug dealer as well. Ali wanted to send Chris a message by using Chris girl Jas but, come to find out he had the wrong girl.

That lead to lots of gunfire.

Great book overall. I would love to read more books by this author. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly Executed, April 14, 2009
This review is from: The Cake Man (Paperback)
I haven't read a book from finish to end that finally wrapped up good. I have never heard of this author or book. I went into the book store and was looking for something else, I spotted this contemplated and bought it. I was glad I did. I read this book in 2 days and was upset I had read it so quick. I won't give any of the book away, and will just say it's a hottie.

The CakeMan was a good book I was leary about purchasing it because there were no details about it. However, I'm glad I did because it was good. I liked Chris's character because he stepped up to help his family once his dad went to jail. I won't give the story away just don't sleep on this one.

Not only did I enjoy the story, I loved that there were NO typo's. I love my urban authors, however, I often wonder whom, if anyone is proof reading these books before they hit the market. This author kept me on the edge of my seat for 5 hours with "The Cakeman", could not put it down. Now have to find other works by him.
