I bought this because it was 2.99 - I was suspicious that it would be a lot like the first one so I wouldn't have bought it otherwise.

I played the first level and the game appears to be slightly faster paced than the first one but I was expecting different customers, cake shapes or upgrages - something! But it looks exactly the same.

I will play the whole game at some point no doubt, and maybe I will find something different in the higher levels, but if you've already played Cake Mania don't bother with this one unless it is free. Try Cake Mania II or III instead.

This game is tough! If you've been playing the Cake Mania series and like the hectic challenges of running your own bakery then this game will put you to the test. It's the same tried and true time management formula with one major difference; this game allows almost zero mistakes.

If this is your first look at Cake Mania or time management games in general, do yourself a favor and try the original Cake Mania instead or you'll find yourself quite frustrated. On the other hand, if you think you're a pro, Back to the Bakery will give you the chance to prove it.

I got pretty mad at this game. It's a fun time management sort of game similar to "Diner Dash," but in the 5th level it didn't tell me beforehand that I needed to buy the new machine in order to win the next level. So I didn't buy it and when I couldn't get past the level that needed the new machine it wouldn't let me sell back what I had already bought, so I had to start the whole game again!

How frustrating is that? Buy Cake Mania 3 instead. It's got way better graphics and the backgrounds/premise are more fun anyway.

The goal is different and there are some new things, but not different enough from the first like the 2nd and 3rd were. I don't regret snatching it up at the 2.99 sale price though, but I wouldn't pay more than that when I can just play the 1st again.
