And I was already a fan!

Everyone that I have shared this book with has been enthralled by the magic, the wonder that is Cakewrecks. To the point of my having to ask for my book back several times.

Buy several copies. You'll need them!

I pretty much sum my thoughts up in my title. I really have enjoyed the blog and read other reviews on here about the book before purchasing it but I was some what disappointed when I received the book. I don't really fill like there was really anything new or different in the book and there is better stuff on the blog.

This is my new favorite book. I keep it in my cubicle so when I'm feeling down, I can look at some cakes made by people dumber than me and feel better about my own life.
The only problem is that now I sit in my cubicle laughing uncontrollably at all the cakes and people think I'm crazy.

I've been a fan of Cake Wrecks blog for a long time. I tend not to buy books based on blogs because I can get all of the content on the blog. Furthermore, once I see the blog entry, I have had my fill and don't need to read it again. However, Cake Wrecks makes a great book for the coffee table ready to entertain your company.

I read the whole book in one sitting and had a grand ol' time not caring that family members thought I had lost it. What's a cake wreck without snarkism? Jen Yates writes lots of fresh snarky for bonus laughs. She also adds lots of great new material that isn't in the blog -- make it worth the dough (pun intended). Two "thumbs up" for this wreck.

This book was cute and funny and astonishing that people could actually make those kind of mistakes, but the author also has a blog that contains the same sutff. I personally hadn't seen the blog and didn't know about it, but I got the book for my brother and he was already familiar with it. He said most of what was in the book he'd already seen on the blog. So if you have a baker in the family that doesn't have a computer or doesn't use one then it's a great fun read, but if they have computer, save the paper and direct them to the blog.

i bought this book after only briefly browsing the blog and thought it would be entertaining but i had no idea how much. my husband and i have just spent the last hour or so laughing so hard our sides hurt and yet we couldn't keep ourselves from going back for more. we plan on purchasing a few extra copies to hand out as gifts this year. it's a great book to have around the house and a perfect gift for someone who might need a bit of cheering. thanks for such a fun evening

I actually looked through this book a few months ago, yet decided to wait to post it so I could check the site out. I've always looked up bad cake design on the internet, yet somehow I always missed the site CakeWrecks. It wasn't until a customer showed me this book that I ended up visiting the site. I almost wish that I'd posted the review sooner- while the book has a lot of great pictures, there's better on the site itself.

As you would expect, this book is full of various funny cakes- many of which aren't done on purpose. Whether it is horrible spelling jobs, word insertion, and/or unintentionally shaped/decorated cakes, most of these will please. It's just that when I compared the pictures in the book to the pictures on the site, I just felt a little disappointed.

I feel a little unfair, comparing this book to its internet counterpart because the site can hold so many more pictures than this book can. With that in mind, I do recommend this to some buyers. This will be best as a gag gift for the baker or internet fan, but it just doesn't seem like it'll be something for everyone out there.

3.8/5

Daughter-in-law passed this on to me last night. I'd never heard of the blog or the book. She's getting a big hug from me today!!
This is the funniest book I've read in a very long time. I laughed (and "howled) so hard at some entries that tears were running down my face.
I plan on getting a copy for myself and several more for friends and family to pass along.
My only complaint is that it only took about an hour to read.

I thought this book was going to be stupid and just misspelled words on cakes.

So much more!!! You will be suprised how funny this book is.

My favorite is where they tried to make a little girl's portrait out of cupcaks and it looked like chewbacca on meth. I cried I lauged so hard.

This is probably the best coffeetable book you'll ever own and the price is great!
