I am living with `the calcium bomb' in my body. My family did not live with it. My father died at 51, my mother at 47, and my kid brother 54.

1.0 out of 5 stars Quackery
I read through this book and I think it is just quackery.

A bacteria that is the size of a virus that multiply once every 5-7 days? If I pick my nose and leave the booger outside, the booger will multiply once every week, not because the booger is alive but it just does. LOL. And I don't write a book call, "The Boogerbacteria: The link to your nasal...

5.0 out of 5 stars Defusing the Bomb, March 19, 2005

This review is from: The Calcium Bomb: The Nanobacteria Link to Heart Disease & Cancer (Hardcover)
I am living with `the calcium bomb' in my body. My family did not live with it. My father died at 51, my mother at 47, and my kid brother 54.
When I got tightness in my chest while exercising in 1999, because of my family history, I knew where I was headed. While waiting for my angiogram, I started 10 sessions of intravenous chelation therapy treatment. After a successful implant of 2 stents I continued with 30 treatments of chelation therapy followed by a once monthly maintenance program.
My cardiologist was enraged that I was doing chelation therapy. He called me, "a damn fool," who was "throwing his money away" on an "unproven, untested method of treatment," a "snake oil operation." Following implant of my stents, my cardiologist said, "You're cured." I took exception: "My blocked arteries are open, but what can we do to prevent the systemic calcification that is causing the blockage?"
The answer to that question is in "The Calcium Bomb."
My `alternative' doctor introduced me to the NanobacTX protocol, as described in the book, which reflects our own experience.
This book presents an assessment of the `calcification' problem by two highly qualified independent journalists. They construct an overview of the struggle to establish the validity of Chelation therapy. They scrupulously present a full discussion of the development of this therapy with its clashes between "standard" and "alternative" medicine.
I am deactivating the `calcium bomb' in my body. After some two years of NanobacTX therapy, three CT scans have revealed a 40% reduction of calcification in my heart. At age 68 I am biking 10 miles a day and leading a full life in retirement. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. For me it is "a matter of life and death."

5.0 out of 5 stars Calcification In Heart Disease & Much More, January 2, 2005

This review is from: The Calcium Bomb: The Nanobacteria Link to Heart Disease & Cancer (Hardcover)
This book is a must read if you wish to stay healthy around these issues. Learn about the impact of nanobacteria on our bodies and lives. This is an amazing story of medical investigation and scientific discovery. The discovery of nanobacteria and their impact on our health may lead to reduced amounts of heart disease in millions of people.

This excellent book provides new insights into how our bodies function. It has a long overdue focus more on prevention and less on crisis management. The bull-in-the-china-shop problem with healthcare has long been not enough focus on prevention. This is because the big money is made by drug companies and other medical providers by providing crisis intervention which is most often less effective than prevention and much more expensive.

"The Calcium Bomb" provides hope that in the future their can be less invasive surgery for heart disease. Finally, there is hope of solving the huge medical problem of abnormal calcium deposits in the body.

5.0 out of 5 stars A sharply profiled and highly necessary wake-up call, December 6, 2004
This review is from: The Calcium Bomb: The Nanobacteria Link to Heart Disease & Cancer (Hardcover)
The Calcium Bomb: The Nanobacteria Link To Heart Disease & Cancer is a breakthrough work by journalist Douglas Mulhall and biological engineer Katja Hansen. The two experts and collaborators have tirelessly labored to present their up-to-date findings that the root cause of heart disease and "hardening of the arteries" may not be excess fat, but rather a microbiological infection that can be treated and cured without the necessity of surgical intervention. convincingly researched for the medical community and accessibly written for the non-specialist general reader, The Calcium Bomb is a sharply profiled and highly necessary wake-up call advocating a re-evaluation of contemporary medical practices concerning this deadly and wide-spread cardiac condition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extraordinary Book, February 5, 2006

This review is from: The Calcium Bomb: The Nanobacteria Link to Heart Disease & Cancer (Hardcover)
I just finished reading an extraordinary book, The Calcium Bomb: The Nanobacteria Link to Heart Disease and Cancer. It also explains for the first time, the possible etiology and outline for a real treatment of my own ailment (which I know quite a bit about) ankloysing spondylitis. This is a work of excellent investigative scholarship and if its basic premise is true, namely that nanobacteria create calcium shells to protect themselves and can only be killed once they are unsheathed, then it may be one of the most important health books ever written. The relationship between nanobacteria and atherosclerosis and arteriosclerosis is portrayed convincingly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Arterial Plaque can be removed, September 15, 2007
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Calcium Bomb: The Nanobacteria Link to Heart Disease & Cancer (Hardcover)
The book discusses how a newly discovered microorganism, nanobacteria, are responsible for the plaque that accumulates within our tissues as we age. Plaque buildup is what causes heart disease, and other circulatory issues. Beyond that it describes how the use of EDTA suppositories and the antibiotic tetracycline have been used remove plaque from arteries and restore health to many who would certainly die without this therapy.
There is some controversy in that nanobacteria are not currently scientifically accepted as being living organisms, and that they are not accepted as the cause of arterial plaque formation. The authors give compelling evidence that they are organisms and they do cause plaque formation. Beyond the scientific argument about nanobacteria, there is no debate that arterial plaque and calcification are major contributors to heart disease, and that EDTA chelation therapy can remove this plaque in many people. The book gives numerous examples of those who have been saved from this therapy, and it provides references to where this therapy can be obtained.
It does downplay the effectiveness of oral EDTA chelation, and it highly recommends the use of tetracycline. In that, it seems to favor a therapeutic regimen that is currently available through only one source, and at a premium price. I am trying to give useful information here rather than a simple review. I have researched this to quite an extent and believe that oral EDTA chelation is fairly effective, it is much easier to take, and it is a lot cheaper than the suppositories they recommend. Beyond that garlic and curcumin, are very safe and effective herbs that offer some anti-plaque benefits.
This is one of the best books I have ever read. It is very thoroughly researched and referenced. Currently the web site www.calcify.com simply displays a message stating that the authors are working on an updated version of the book. I will certainly buy it as soon as it's available. I am disappointed that this book is already out of print and that currently it is selling for such a premium price. If you suffer from life threatening heart disease then by all means buy it, it will be worth every penny to you. If you have more of a scientific interest then you may wish to wait for the updated version or research EDTA chelation therapy on the web.
I would prefer that the future version of the book focus more on methods of removing plaque from the body and less on the scientific debate over nanobacteria.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Book!, November 29, 2004
This review is from: The Calcium Bomb: The Nanobacteria Link to Heart Disease & Cancer (Hardcover)
This is a great book that is very easy to read (which is uncommon in the medical world). Anyone that has or knows someone that has heart disease, kidney stones, arthritis or prostatitis needs to read this book. It explains why modern medicine has failed so many with these diseases. The current standard of care is to treat the symptoms not the route cause. Finally there's hope to solving the huge medical problem of abnormal calcium deposits in the body. I'd highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jeff Rense was right!, November 27, 2004

This review is from: The Calcium Bomb: The Nanobacteria Link to Heart Disease & Cancer (Hardcover)
Radio personality Jeff Rense was absolutely right when he said this book was "one of the biggest to hit the medical community in years". It's about time someone started talking about how doctors have totally failed to deal with the calcification in heart disease, arthritis and a bunch of other diseases. This is the only book that explains the condition clearly and shows how we can finally get rid of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Discovery, December 1, 2004
This review is from: The Calcium Bomb: The Nanobacteria Link to Heart Disease & Cancer (Hardcover)
Having enjoyed 'Our Molecular Future' by Mulhall, I was already expecting a very good read with 'The Calcium Bomb'. Happily, it was even better than expected.

The Calcium Bomb offers very interesting information, in an enjoyable easily readable format. Yet it is clearly very extensively researched, with an extensive bibliography.

I highly recommend it to any physician involved in the treatment of heart disease, and more importantly to all lay persons who may be concerned about their or their loved ones' health.

5.0 out of 5 stars Changes the way you view Heart disease, January 5, 2006

This review is from: The Calcium Bomb: The Nanobacteria Link to Heart Disease & Cancer (Hardcover)
I have never heard any of this information any where. This book is a must read. There is enough information here that makes a strong connection between calcium deposits, nanobacteria, and heart disease.

They do a great job in translating the terms for non medical people. Additionally, I would say that the relationship between the information presented and cancer represented about small percentage of the book, but the linkage is important and worth considering nevertheless.
