This is a great calculator for anyone that uses a tape measurer in fraction of inches as I do. I'm a cabinet maker and I replaced my old one after about ten years. This one calculates up to thirty seconds of a inch. At least that is as far as I've gone with it so far. You can do inches, mm, cm, ft, bd ft, yds, convert from all of the above, etc. etc. It has more features then I will ever use and it comes with a nice slip on hard cover and a instruction manual pocket. I highly recommend it.

Calculated Industries has always been my favorite when it comes to construction based calculators. Lately, however, it seems that they have so many different models to choose from that it makes the buying process a little difficult. This model was the perfect fit. It has all of the basic options that a standard user will need. It doesn't have trig functions or stair caluculations, but most of us won't need those things.

The best thing with this model is that while it is still pocket size, the keys are just a little bit larger than on some other models. This makes it so much easier to hit the right keys the first time.

Overall this is a great construction calculator and the best for the money.

This is a good product that does exactly what I expected.

But, it only came with a Spanish language User Guide, which is obviously a packaging error because everything else, including the box, is in English. When I registered the product with Calculated Industries I requested an English version, but I'm still waiting and it's been several months.

The "electronic paper tape" is useful for review of entries, but it would be much more useful if it allowed individual entries to be edited. Unfortunately, you have to re-enter the entire list if there is one error. I also have an HP 17BII business calculator (that died after 20 years) which keeps long summation lists in memory, and allows editing of individual entries, so I have become accustomed to that feature.

But except for these few issues, I'm pleased with this calculator.

This is a good calculator for metric conversion. The only thing I wish was available was micro m/L and kilo m/L. Am very happy with product.

Being well versed in the metric system almost all my life, it took time for me to get used to the English system. That plus the constant measurements I have to deal with on the job (Interior Designer) is why I had to look for help. This calculator was highly recommended by a good friend so I went ahead and bought it.

It does what it's supposed to with with accuracy. Period.

Although I really like it, I did strike off 1 star because of the price. I think $30+ for a metric calc is a bit steep especially at this day and age where apps that pretty much do the same thing come free. Nevertheless, I would still recommend this for jobs/ task that need serious metric conversion.

I use this calculator almost daily on job sites. It is easy to use with a bigger keypad and a nice size display. It has all the functions I would ever need and then some. And as stated in previous reviews the price can't be beat.

I'm a huge fan of Festools. They are very accurate woodworking tools, with very precise measurements - all in *metric*. Out of desperation, i got this 4020 conversion calculator. It's terrific. you enter 19 11/32; then hit "mm" and you get the conversion, etc. just that simple. Of course its capabilities go far beyond this simple example, but this is all i need it for. It's designed to do materials estimation, 3-d dimension calculations, area, weight and volume, etc. It's really a general purpose constuction and estimating calculator - none of the latter features of which I use. I have this tucked into the apron of my rockler clamp stand and use it all the time for basic millwork.

There are several features that I like: (1) it uses a 2032 battery which is inexpensive and easy to find), (2) it has a reversible dust cover to cover the keyboard when not in use, (3) it has a cute little slot in the back that holds the instruction book (neat idea), (4) the keys stand proud of the panel and are well-separated so i don't have a problem with 'fat fingering', (5) I like the one-key conversion design - very simple and straightforward to avoid errors, (6) display is large and has adequate contrast.

Recommended.

Wish I bought this calculator sooner. I'm a designer and I always find myself converting and calculating measurements all day long. Its great to be able to do all that in one easy to use calculator. I love the color coded buttons too.

This calculator does everything I could ever need it for and then some, a great buy! This Calculator is exactly what you need for estimating supplies needed via inches, feet, yards and fractions of an inch. I used it to figure out optimal cuts for architectural shingles, worked well for me.
