Having tried many feet/inch/fraction calculators, I must say this is by far the easiest to use, and the case it comes in can take a beating while protecting the keypad. There's even a compartment to keep the operator's manual with the calculator and protected (which you will use on occasion for calculations that you don't do every day). I have had the predecessor to this model, the Construction Master 4 for years, use it daily, and still have never had to change the battery.

The price and service from Amazon was superior to anything I've used on the internet. The calculator also has exceeded my expectations ( I had used the Construction Master IV for 8 years, until it just wouldn't work any more ). I would recommend to anyone both the service and product provided here.

My Dad and myself run a construction company and we have used this products for well over 12 years, the best part of this is that it is used the way you think...example is a 3 FEET, 2 INCH, 11/16 mesure is typed in the same way as its said.

Great product, we break or loose more than we wear out, excellent product..buy one today.

I've used these since the original Measure Master Plus, which still is operating, and my only wish is they would add a percentage key to make it be an everyday calculator.

After avoiding buying a construction calculator for years, mainly justifying $50 for something that didn't have a blade attached to it, I finally bought this calculator and it has transformed the way I estimate, frame, roof, etc... I wish I had bought this calculator 8 years ago. It has survived a drop from the top of a huge, steep roof sliding 18 feet then free falling to the deck 12 feet below with the only damage being a broken hinge on the cover. Still works like new even a year after the fall.

Does everthing it says it will do. Have been using it with minimal instruction and have not yet watched the included dvd. It is operationally intuitive. Was a bit miffed when I saw it for the same price at Lowes INCLUDING a fitted Armadillo case... I sorta consoled myself with the free shipping and no Calif sales tax.

Simple, to use. Had to buy it, since my Foreman has been using it for years and told me to buy it. He was always using it to do layouts and figure out fitting allowance and piping measurements and more. If u are working as a carpenter BUY IT! Or any position above construction laborer BUY IT! No need to say anymore!

I've been using my Master 5 for the last four years. It's very handy and functions well EXCEPT I've been using it with a rubber band. I don't remember if I dropped it or not, but the little plastic peg broke off from the hinge to the cover. I do want to keep it covered when I'm not using it, so I secure the cover with a rubber band. It's just too delicatedly made for a calculator that is made for 'construction purpose.' Of course when I'm using it, the cover is totally separated from its body, and it becomes an extra 'piece' on my busy architect's desk.

I chose this model over the Measure Master Pro 4020 as it has more features like the Stair and framing functions. Quick calculations for board feet and seemingly everything I need on the job. I was happy to discover it has a bright yellow hinged cover ( not shown in photo)included so keys are protected and its easy to find in your bag. I have not had time to look at the CD that came with it. I am just figuring it out as I go and with help from the quick reference guide which fits neatly in a little panel on the back so its there when you need it. This works for now.I am sure there is lots more it can do. Great product.

This is the perfect calculator for anyone who needs to calculate feet and inches or metric and you can calculate length and angles without trig. It replaced 3 calculators.
