If you are an electrician and you need to quickly calculate loads, voltage drops, conduit/raceway sizes and any other electrical calculations, this calculator is a great tool. It is currently updated to the 2008 NEC. When the NEC does a change/update, this calculator has the ability to be updated to always be current with the NEC. Instead of having to flip through tables in the NEC, you can use this calculator to quickly find your answers. It is a tool that I would recommend to any electrician.

This is a niche tool that is rather expensive and could use a lot of improvement. It does do what is needed, but it will lead you to wrong results if you are not careful in how you enter the data. This is especially true for grounding conductor size, power factor and conduit size. Calculated industries is sticking to an out-dated format just to make their product backward compatible and sell upgrades to their older units. It needs a better display, buttons just below the display that change function with notes in the display for the function, multiple input lines in the display. This has all been done by other companies like HP and Ti. If you use it a lot and know its problems, it can be a time saver. If you use it occasionally it can be a lot faster to use a plain calculator or a spreadsheet and look up what you need in the NEC.

If you are an electrician working on your own this tool is a must have. Even if you are part of a larger company and have others do to the planning it's still a great tool to have. You can pretty much open it up and use it instantly because most of the major calculations are quite simple to do and a big plus is the ability to update it to the current code. Even some of the more advanced features are relatively easy. The intructions are quite clear and walk you through practice calculations for each feature. Also, the keys are all clearly labled per each function. The only negative is that you can't bring it to a code examination. A great tool for a working electrician or maintenance person.

The learning curve is quick and the steps seem obvious and the results are quick. I have not taken the time yet to sit down with the code to check the accuracy of the results but assuming that the algorithms are accurate this is a great tool to keep around.

This is very easy to use, a great product. I highly recommend this to any electrician or student electrician. The fact that the formulas are pre-loaded for calculations makes it such a perfect tool.

I found it very hard to understand and use, looking to return for a refund. This product should include a dvd or a better written out handbook with better illustrated examples.

The calculator is great for the electrical purposes. It have everything that an electrical contractor may need. However it is not good to do complex mathematical calculations because of the lack of mathemathcal functions. I believe it could be a better product if the manufacturer adds some more math funcions on it.

Just flip the top open and instantly figure lengths, sizes and etc. Get you one ! You wont regret it. Here's a handy aside "It's upgradable" !!! So you never have to use obsolete info. That's all

This calculator is very useful in day to day electrical design. It has many useful features and can save a lot of time that would be spent flipping through the code book.
