Take full advantage of your Ultra Scale Master® Pro digitizing capabilities by using Smart Takeoff!™- an optional affordable and simple-to-use graphic digitizing program. When combined with the speed and accuracy of the Ultra Scale Master® Pro digitizing tool, this system is invaluable as part of any construction cost estimating system. Smart Takeoff!™ provides graphic representation of the digitized coordinates for the Ultra Scale Master® Pro, and verifies quantities while minimizing, or even eliminating, errors of omission and miscalculation. Use Smart Takeoff!™ to determine quantities of area, perimeter, length, and vertical surface area for compiling construction cost estimates. Smart Takeoff!™ transfers digitized quantities to virtually any Windows® based program including spreadsheets (spreadsheet program not included), and also allows you to export the graphic image in DXF format for use in other programs. The Ultra Scale Master® Pro can also operate as a stand alone digital area takeoff tool, or you can connect it to your PC to transfer measurements into any estimating and spreadsheet program that accept text input from a number pad or keyboard. The ergonomic design with large targeting window allows you to accurately measure and compute areas, segment lengths, perimeters, and volumes for simple or complex polygons, poly lines, irregular shapes, arcs and circles. 72 built-in architectural and engineering scales allow you to measure plans and drawing up to 24" x 36" in size. Four custom scales allow you to measure out of scale drawings.

The Ultra Scale Master Pro is an affordable and portable area takeoff tool and digitizing system. Unlike expensive digitizers, the Ultra Scale Master Pro allows you to measure plans at your office or on the job site without the need for additional computing devices or software. It is best suited for takeoffs involving area (square foot/yard/meter) of polygon shapes like houses, pads, roofs, floors, etc. Also, areas of irregular shapes like pools, landscaping beds, etc. The USMP also does linear takeoffs, for things such as wall segments, piping, and wiring and cubic volume takeoffs for concrete, gravel, excavations, HVAC, etc. The ergonomic design with large targeting window allows you to accurately measure and compute area, perimeter, and volume for simple or complex polygons, polylines, irregular shapes, arcs and circles. The Ultra Scale Master Pro can operate as a stand alone digital area takeoff tool, or you can connect it to your PC to transfer measurements into estimating and spreadsheet programs. It also can send digitized (x,y) coordinates to takeoff software programs like the Calculated Industries Smart Takeoff! program.

This is really better than I expected for the cost. It came with a hard case for easy storage and transportation, the battery-operated 'puck' which can be used either connected to a computer (as a digitizer, with included 10' USB cord) or stand alone, software (2 cd's, digitizer is good, and a spreadsheet program, which is just OK, kind of limited use), and reflector bars (being this is a sonic measuring device). It works well with different shapes and is accurate enough for estimates. On the 1/4"= 1' scale, 15'8" wall read 15'11". Most measurements were closer than that. On 200'= 1", 10,118 sq/ft area was within 40 sq/ft to what I had figured with pencil and paper. There are quite a few scales that cover architectural, engineering, and metric scales. There is also a custom scale setting to set your own, if needed. The included software spreadsheet is fairly useless, although you can send the numbers to your own spreadsheet/estimating program. (Which I do, and it works good that way). I have purchased several items from Calculated Industries, and this one integrates well and makes estimating easier. Overall, a great product for the price. Portable enough to be used in the field, and in the office.

This product is worthless. The puck continually comes up with "read error" during measurements. The measurement of a 400 ft. line in 40 scale meaures +/- 5 to 10 feet! In the real world this would represent a huge cost for things like asphalt paving takeoffs, pipe, etc. Not accurate for anything besides ballpark figures. Better off using a scale and notebook. I am sending off my plans to be scanned and then I can do an accurate area takeoff using Adobe Acrobat. Don't waste you money or time on this product.
