About the Author

Denise Tiller is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and worked in Newport Beach for several years. Her actuarial textbook, Life, Health, and Annuity Reinsurance is the industry standard tome. It’s on the Society's exam syllabus and is going into a second printing. Denise is president of the unpublished writers' section of Sisters in Crime. She also belongs to the Mystery Writers of America and to a professionally-led writing critique group.

When an actuary in California who must count dead bodies as part of her job finds her work multiplying beyond reason, she must apply her mathematical and deductive skills to uncover a fiend in human guise. A tense, shockingly written thriller, Calculated Risk documents Denise Tiller as an original mystery/suspense writer of considerable promise and someone to keep track of.

A really good read for a first effort. Good suspense but not too rough for a cozy fan. I look forward to Tiller's next effort.

From time to time you can pick up a book that you can't put down. Calculated Risk is one of those books you can really enjoy and have a good reading experience; it grabs the reader from the first page (started the book at 4:30PM - stayed awake to finish it). Enjoy!
