This review is from: Calculating Heart (Paperback)
Caro Fraser, the daughter of George MacDonald Fraser (Flashman!) spins a good yarn about not much at all. She never reverts to describing the details of attire and furnishings in apalling name-brand detail, but her prose is clean, her story linear, and her style unaffected. Any one of her books beats watching television. It's like pulling back into a cocoon of well-behaved people having dramatic moments gracefully. If you like reading W, or Harper's Bazaar, or shopping at Saks (not Barney's) and you're having a tough week, read one of Caro Fraser's books and everyday life will sort itself out in the meantime.
