Now a calculator can be with you wherever you travel. Use Calculator for Kindle to make those quick, every-day calculations like computing sales discounts, double-checking an invoice, or computing a restaurant tip.

In addition to basic math operations, Calculator also includes Square Roots, percentages and exponents, and the trigonometric functions Sine, Cosine, and Tangent. You have standard calculator Memory Functions, and you also get Calculator History; in which the last 10 items and last 10 calculation results are saved for later reference.

Calculator offers keyboard shortcuts to help you work quickly, and a last function undo and digit by digit undo functions to help you correct errors. Help pages explain each feature, and a Shortcuts List page clearly lists all shortcuts.

Calculator by 7 Dragons (this page) is an alternative to Easy Calculator by Mobigloo, for calculators on the Kindle. I decided to check it out.

You'll likely do better ignoring any written reviews, and looking at the screenshots that are provided for each program. In those, you'll be able to see the layouts that are provide.

This program (Calculator)
PRO - Has Sin, Con, Tan, x^y
CON - Only one line of output and tracking.
CON - A history exists, but it's on a separate page, and multiple clicks are needed to leave it.
CON - does not follow default Kindle numbers.
CON - Placement of function keys non-intuitive

The competeing program Easy Calculator
PRO - Multiple lines of history provided.
PRO - Follows Kindle numbering.
PRO - A (add) S (subtract) X (Times)
CON - No trig functions.

For the moment, I'll give the nod to Easy Calculator. I like the layout and the onscreen history better.

But look at the screenshots, and make your own decision for which layout you prefer.

I find this alternative to be vastly superior than the other calculator app for the Kindle that was available until now. I really like most 7Dragons developments and this keeps up with the high quality they have us accustomed to.
It provides all kinds of operations of a normal calculator an even some of the more advances "scientific ones" like trigonometric functions, exponents, roots, 1/X, etc. It's very user friendly and the redesigned keyboard layout for typing numbers works pretty well and lets the user input numbers much faster and more easily than with the standard Alt+Letter or Sym key.
It has memory functions very well implemented and supports seeing history of the last 10 operations and values stored in memory. I find that really useful.

I really wouldn't think twice before recommending it to anyone.

I am always doing percentage calcs (I am a cheapskate) this calculator is a must have for those on a tight budget (who isn't nowadays). It is the easiest I have ever seen. No calculating percentage then doing another calculation for final answer. The percentages are automatically entered into the one calculation for the final answer... It also, allows long string calculations.

Example:4+7+22-9=24 (keys used: afqfxxge=24) also, 256-25%= 256-64=192,the 25% is auto converted and entered in calculation, neat..

The keyboard is well designed and easy to use. It has a history function that you can review past calcs. Reminds me of the old tape calculators and very handy. Also, for those so inclined, it has trig functions and a square rooter with 15 decimal places.

And, a very big plus, it has a 13 page well written instruction manual (l on keyboard).

This is a must have for grocery shopping on a tight budget....
