This CD gets better the more I listen to it. A bit mellower than her work with Autour de Lucie, but very soulful and sexy. I love this album, and would recommend it to anyone who loves Autour de Lucie.

The wonderful Autour de Lucie may be musical history now, but their lead singer Valérie Leulliot continues their tradition of intelligent, quietly passionate & melancholy songs with this fine debut. The band matured with each successive album, creating songs by, about & for adults -- not bland & numbing AOR, mind you, but genuinely sophisticated music that spoke to the deeper & wider perspective of those who refused to waste their time in a desperate & futile struggle to remain teenagers into middle age & beyond.
So here is what I hope is just the first of many albums from Valérie Leulliot. Her signature breathy voice, tinged with the joys & sorrows of life, with all its wounds & delights, remains as transporting as ever. A previous reviewer uses the word "mellow," and that's quite accurate, as with an excllent wine maturing into full flavor & bouquet. Here's a reminder that adult doesn't have to mean dull & drab; in fact, what we're offered is both subtle & moving, the work of an artist who has learned much over the years & put it to very good use indeed. Highly recommended!

Valerie's breathy vocals are a perfect match for the simple yet atmospheric tunes. As has been noted you do not have to speak French to enjoy this album. Great, understated stuff.

I don't even speak french, but this CD is awesome. Valerie Leulliots voice is amazing. The music is pure and reminiscent of young musicians making music in a field next to a volkwagon van? I don't know...thats what I imagine when I'm listening to it.
