The big (+) is it's light, portable, one piece rest and can be used as a pistol and a rifle rest.
The big (-) is it's light and moves significantly after each shot, also the elevation adjustment wretched mechanism does not hold the position. Need to readjust after every shot. If you are a bench rest shooter - this is not for you. If you need to sight-in your scope once or twice a season, this will work OK. If you need to sight-in your pistol, this will work well. Having said all that, if and when mine brakes, I'll shop for something heavier and sturdier.

Caldwell runs the gamut from cheap plastic to solid metal products. The front and rear rests on this one are far to hard, unlike a filled bag. Even a .22 caliber will bounce a little on the front rest. If you are a serious shooter and you can't afford a solid rest, get some scissor jacks from a junkyard (new they only run about $20.00) and make a shooting bag to sit on top.
This rest has been relegated to my holding bin for cleaning rifles. If you want an excellent rest try the Caldwell Rock. |
