If you spend 30 seconds making sure the rifle's chamber is clean, and that this seats fully, this gives a perfect shot down a bore. I set mine at dusk, and could see the dot about 200 yards away. Made it easy to see the angle of the rifle to scope, by checking at different ranges. Was able to get my first shot within a few inches very easy using this.

If You plan to set up optics on any weapon, get one of these that matches. The short battery life others have noted really doesn't matter much, as this is a tool that You should really only need to use when replacing optics on a rifle. A fresh set of batteries cost less than the 10 to 20 shots in ammunition it saves. Wouldn't be a bad idea to get an extra set and keep it on hand if You like to tinker with your setup a lot. It tested very "repeatable" for me, being that I could slide it in and out of the chamber repeatedly but once the bolt was closed it was always back to the same spot. If there is inaccuracy there, it is small enough to be insignificant for the purpose of this tool.

I put a small piece of paper in between the last cell and the one in front of it to turn mine off. This way I could crank it down tight, not worry about killing my batteries or loosing them.


To the reviewer who said it fit loose in his chamber, PLEASE be careful. You may want to get a set of go/no-go gauges or visit a gunsmith who has some and check Your rifle. Usually a loose fit is a sign of a highly worn barrel and may be unsafe.

THE PRODUCT WORKS GREAT BUT THE BATTERIES WHERE 95% DEAD. LASTED ABOUT 3 MINUTES BEFORE I HAD TO BUY NEW. VERY GOOD FOR 100 + YARDS. BEAM IS VERY BRIGHT. CARTRIDGE BORE SIGHTERS ARE THE BEST. ALSO WORKED GREAT FOR 30 06 CAL

Product arrived as scheduled, and worked right out of the package. Included the batteries, and worked as described. I checked it with another borescope style tool, and it matched precisely. Very cool to have such so inexpensively. The only drawback is lack of a switch of some sort. When backed off far enough not to be on, it's real close to falling apart.

This is a must have ammunition saver that will be regularly used after cleaning an AK47 with a side mount scope. I use this to 're-zero' my scope after I clean my rifle as I have to take off the scope mount to access my receiver. It takes about 2 minutes to zero my scope and saves me a bunch of ammunition at my next shoot.

Why 3 stars? im going to chalk it up to user error.

I keep asking myself HOW could this be so off? i mean the laser goes right down the barrel but it wasnt even close to on target. maybe it was user error who knows. But anyway, the batteries last a mighty 15 min so that stinks. Do yourself a favor and get a 20 dollar one that will work better. final thought, dont slam your bolt forward. got mine jammed with this thing inside.

Wasn't sure this would work for me, but my sks is now dead on accurate. Where my red dot is is where the bullet hits. I'm really impressed and highly recommend this laser boresighter. It was simple to use and was supposed to get me on the paper. Well, it did that and then some. It's so nice to hit what you are aiming at.

This is a bit of a gem for me because I'm a new shooter with an M4 with a 9x40 Scope for 100 Yard shots. The sights were tuned in for close contact and the scope mount was way too hight for it to be correct or close out of the box. It would have taken a long time to tune both in, but with the laser it was done in minutes, plenty bright plenty right! I'm now literally hitting a dime at 100 yards.

First I'll say that I did contact the seller about my issue and received no response. Basically, I have a similar problem to everyone else. Maybe it just luck of the draw. I put the new batteries in the sighter and the laser came on for about 2 seconds when tightening the cap and then shut off. Not sure if its the batteries or the sighter, but with the cap on tight nothing happens. When I unscrew the cap, it flickers for a second just as it is about to come off. I guess I'll try getting some new batteries, but I'd recommend getting a different one. I did read the reviews before buying, but hoped for the best. My mistake.

Stopped working consistently after 5th use, even with new batteries. Now it works maybe 1 out of ten tries. Doesn't fit snugly in barrel, different result each time its chambered up.

In short: Junk.

This Boresighter is a decent deal. There were no problems with shipping, and the product is what it is.....A laser pointer in a 7.62x39 cartridge sized body. This boresighter came with batteries included. To turn the unit on and off you simply screw the bottom in or out. Obviously its not intended for use as a tool for setting the elevation on your optics at long distances, but as for centering windage its great. With the cost of 7.62x39 ammo running about 40 cents a round, it'll asssist you in leaving more rounds in the box, not to mention saving you some of the frustration of zeroing first time optics. As for firearms safety this unit can help you put your rounds closer to the mark when installing new optics (fewer stray rounds). Bottom line, this boresight can help you save money in the long run and that's ALWAYS a bonus in my book.
