In addition to pictures of lovely quilts, this book provides a comprehensive treatment of the history of cotton printing before 1850. Quilt enthusiasts will find this useful for dating fabrics, but it also provides a handy summary for textile historians.

As a collector of early 1800's chintz quilts, I found this book very important, informative, and most of all beautiful. The quilts are gorgeous and quality of photos is top-notch. If you like early chintz, you will love this book!
