Calico Critters Country Living Room Furniture Set

We purchased this two chair set for our daughter's Calico Cottage. It is the perfect size for the small cottage, and it also fits nicely in the Calico Townhouse (which is a little cramped for my taste).

This set includes:
2 velvety red armchairs
1 tree stump shaped coffee table
1 cute coat rack
4 teeny cookies
1 serving plate
2 little cups

Although our daughter is two (and too young according to the manufacturer's recommendation), I let her play with this set, but only when we are playing together. I can watch her very carefully and teach her what to do (and what not to do) with the all the little pieces. She loves miniature things, and she gets great enjoyment from serving her critters tea and mini cookies.

I've read many reviews complaining about the accessories being tiny. Compared to the usual American-style dollhouse accessories, I would agree. But I don't consider this a negative thing. Calico Critters caters to the fans of cute and miniature. (There is an appreciation for the miniature in places like Japan and the UK.) For parents who prefer the larger American dollhouse style, I would advise discretion when choosing this set, especially for younger children.

I ordered this for my 5-year old. She loves it, as well as I! It is very cute. The red is velvety, like the animals, not hard plastic. I'm glad we purchased it. It goes well with the carry and play case.
