Calico Tales is a collection poems about cats that could be enjoyed by any cat lover (whether they think they like poetry or not). Some of my personal favorites include "Jump to the Moon" and "Promise" but there are many, many more. Betsy Stowe has captured the many facets of our relationships with our cats. The frosting on the cake are the beautiful black-and-white pictures of cats that are truly enchanting. I highly recommend this book for any cat lover. Buy it for yourself and get one as a gift for someone who loves cats. That someone will thank you!

My personal favorites are "Direct Translation" and "Sleeping Cat," but each page touches on the joys, the frustrations and the bewilderment of living with these wonderful creatures, as well as the poignant sadness when they must leave us. I really enjoyed this book. I bought it for my sister but couldn't resist reading it first. It's very entertaining and very well written. Terrific poetry and fantastic photography. You'll enjoy it!
