Fantastic product for kids. The sizing was perfect for my 3 year old. We purchased this to help keep him entertained on our Hong Kong trip. 13 hours on a plane is a long time. The earphones cover the entire ear and seemd to be very comfortable. They seemed fairly sturdy and survived multiple trips in my backpack which was stuffed with over things.

July 2012 update: surprisingly durable. We've taken them on every trip we take with the kids (6 and 8 year old boys now) and while the little plastic animal ears broke off, they still work perfectly. To answer the sizing question (sorry, I know the question was asked years ago), if I spread the headphones to where the ear covers are perpendicular, there's about 7.5 inches in-between. There's minimal adjustment of them to fit over your head (each earpiece moves about 1 inch downward). I'm an adult with an average sized head and while it fits, it sits a little high on my ears.

I ordered 3 different types of headphones for my 3 children, and these are my least favorite and the only ones no longer working.
1. The sound quality (by comparison) is the poorest.
2. The 3 and 5 year old think it is fun to peel off the black ear padding, which is plastic and not even close to the quality of the other options.
3. The sizing/shape does not fit their head and does not adjust to fit comfortably on smaller children.

I thought the animals would be cute and it would be an easy way to see which headphones belong to each child. They are not cute enough to justify the purchase, and one of the other models came with different colored disks that easily snap on to the headphones to distinguish between sets.

Ultimately, the wire pulled out of the volume control piece, and these no longer function. In total they lasted 6 1/2 months with only occasional use. I was disappointed in this purchase.
I recommend the Kidz Gear Wired Headphones for Kids as my #1 choice for headphones for kids.

Auvio headphones for kids available at Radioshack are also a decent option if you are NOT using a splitter (otherwise you will have low volume issues), but I do love the "break away cord" that has prevented any further issues with cords pulling apart by kids yanking on them. I also like the colored disks to identify which headphones belong to which kid.

I got these for my very petite 2-1/2 year old to use w/ a portable DVD on a plane. They fit her well enough with plenty of room to grow (the ear cups slide on the headband to expand some), and I think the animal faces helped her to accept them. Sometimes she just let them hang around her neck, but at least that kept the sound of her movies from traveling too far from us. Sound quality is adequate for this age. They did not, for some reason, work well with SOME armrest audio on the planes. It did fine on a newer plane (with headrest video screens), but, as I read in another review of a similar product, it seemed to amplify cabin/plane noise on an older plane that just had the audio options. That probably has more to do with the plane than these headphones. The only problem I had with them was packing them. They do not collapse, fold, or twist, so they take up a bit of space (and you don't want to crush them). In the "relaxed" state, they form a roughly 6" circle, and the tiger's face/ear cups are about 2-1/2" wide. I would recommend these and would probably buy them again, as there are not many options out there for very small children.

These are cute, and the perfect size for my almost 2-yo. the sound is not too much- you can adjust the volume on your DVD player/computer as well as an additional volume control on the headset (well, on the cord portion).

it did take some getting used to for the kiddo, so i suggest "practicing" at home before the trip. it worked for us!

I bought 2 of these headphones to fly with my children. They worked great on the flight and during our vacation. I loved the devise to control the sound on them, but they stopped working in a few months. One pair lasted about 6 months and the other less than 4. They don't even use them very often. I bet a total of 10 times. I am extremely frustrated and disappointed. I would return them if I had my packaging information.

I purchased this for my 18mos to use on a flight. It was for a DVD player. She thought the headphones were great fun AND I did not have to worry about "looks" from other people as to how loud the movie we were watching was.
Bottom line: cute, good price, decent shipping cost.

Got two sets - Tiger & Panda - for our nearly 4 and 6 1/2 year old. They fit great, are comfortable & quiet and the individual volumn control is great. We use them w/the portable DVD player in the car. Nice and quiet! Cute too.

Works very well with young kids. I purchased this headset for my 4 year old daughter for her Apple ipod shuffle and it works wonderful. It has a volume control button and it is comfortable for her to wear and listen to her music.

The headphones are not fabulous in stereo, but what can you expect for $13? They are great for what we need them for--traveling with a portable DVD player. A small adult can even use them. They fit me!

I bought those headphones for my 3y old as we had a 16 hours flight to survive... they didn't help at all, they fit well and are really cute, you can change volume on them directly so your kid can do it himself and size is adjustable, it fitted me too very well and I think they would be great for home use, but then we don't use headphones at home...
the problem we had is that airplanes are noisy, and you know how some headphone have a noise-reduction technology? well, those one have the noise-amplifier one, even if you listen to nothing but put them on your ears in a noisy environment, the noise gets 5 times worse, so that, plus trying to listen to something, it's just a shortcut for a headache...
I'm very sad they didn't work out for plane travel because they're comfy and so cute...
