Just to clear things up, these are just child sized headphones that have been "hardened" to resist abuse. There are no control mechanisms and other features, just headphones.

Overview-
These are just medium-low quality membranes in a hard package sized for little ones.

They seem to have a good size range. The cups can be slid up or down on the support rail a couple of inches for the older kids or left up for the younger ones. I have a 2 and a 5 year old and they fit both fine.

The exterior construction is a decent plastic, light and tough, can withstand a good amount of abuse. The actual contact surfaces seem to be a vinyl like material that is easy to clean, seems to wear well.

The actual acoustic membrane is protected by a plastic grid so if the kid takes them off and starts poking around inside they can't damage them.

The cup is filled with some type of foam, this helps to isolate outside sounds, though its not anything like dedicated noise cancelling or ear muffs. It reduces exterior noise but does not substantially eliminate it.

The wire that connects to your sound device is key, first off its reinforced with extra thick shielding, the ends are reinforced as well. This helps prevent tangling and snagging and breaking. Also from the plug to the cups there is only 1 wire. The wire to the other cup is built into the headband. This reduces the amount of wire hanging around to get tangled or broken. Very nice.

The sound quality is OK. It has good reproduction of low tones, serviceable reproduction of mid tones but poor reproduction of high tones. For its target age group that's probably ok. You can hear voices fine, just don't expect to enjoy your opera too well. Its not for serious music listening, its for kids who really wouldn't know the difference.

If you have kids and you want to get them their own headphones so they stop destroying yours these are just the ticket.

I bought these headphones for my preschool-age son to use on the airplane. My son had them on for about 10 minutes and then refused to continue using them. When I tried them on, I realized why. The headphones somehow amplify the airplane noise and drown out the sound of the movie. You would have to turn the volume of the movie much higher than appropriate for a child in order to hear it over the background airplane noise. I ended up buying an adult-sized pair of Sony headphones (about $30)that specifically eliminate background noise. The Sony pair fits my son well enough, and he will happily use the headphones on the plane for hours. If you need headphones for an airplane, skip the Califone. They should be fine for ordinary use.

We purchased these for our daughter to use on a long (8 hour) plane ride. She is 4 years old and they worked perfectly. She was able to hear her DVD on the plane and she liked how they fit her ears. If you are looking for something for your toddler, these are a great fit.

I bought these headphones for my two-year-old daughter for use on a long (10+ hours) airplane flight to use with a portable DVD player. They fit her great, she was comfortable, and they worked very well with no problems. I had a difficult time finding many options for headphones for toddlers, and would definitely recommend these.

They look cool, they fit kids' heads and they work great. We use them in our public library.

We just went on a long flight with our 3 year old and watching movies really passed the time. These headphones fit him really well and he was quite happy to wear them. The volume level was good, I tested them out first and even at the max level on the player it didn't seem too loud.

This headphone set travels incredibly well. It's light, easy for our 2 year old use, and the sound quality is very good. Our daughter used it for our 3 hour plane trip to Virginia to listen to music and watch videos. It fits her head very well, though it will easily grow with her. They can fit me as well. I highly recommend this product.

My two year old absolutely loves these head phones. They have them in great colors. She is proud to have them. They are durable. They have been threw a beating and they hold on and work just as well as they did the first day we got them. They are just the right size for a small child's head. They adjust to size so they will grow with any child, They even fit me! You can't go wrong with these head phones.

These headphones and light and fit a child's head really well. My kids use them with their ipod shuffle. They never get tired of wearing them. The cord is really long, so I keep it wrapped up when they are using it with their shuffle.

My 2 year old grandson went on his first airplane trip from California to Virginia. He HATES anything put over his ears. When his mom put the earphones on him and started his DVD he did not try to remove them. He didn't even want her to take them off when his movie ended! I am so glad that I found these earphones for him.
