Baby, Mom & Dad love it!,

This is a video review of California Baby's Calendula Cream. The scent is very mild and the 2 pack makes the purchase much more economical as opposed to buying them individually. We are definitely going to continue buying this product for the baby, Mom and Dad.

Nice and rich but maybe not the best for true eczema,

I thought this cream was mediocre at best - then later decided maybe it was working well enough after all with the added benefit that my son didn't fight me using it. Now I have found it wasn't working well at all so I have to say if you are truly dealing with eczema please just consider stepping outside what is "natural" and using modern science to fix it.
Basically my son gets a hideous flare up all over his lower legs as winter comes on, every year. We would use aquaphor to get it tamed down, and then lotion to maintain. He'd fight and scream over lotion because he said it burned, and every year it was a battle to stay in the point where lotion would help and be tolerable because his skin wasn't too raw to use it. Aquaphor is NASTY stuff - not from a natural parenting perspective, just from a greasy ick perspective. You get all this icky goo on your hands and then you're trying to pull down pant legs and put on socks but you have to really go and WASH your hands between steps. This cream is so much more pleasant to use - you can just rub the excess in to your own hands. And it smells AWESOME. We got my son's legs tamed with this and then we were maintaining with the daily use lotion form. I *thought* it was working. It didn't look perfect, but it looked pretty decent, and he didn't fight me putting these things on him. Then he developed a nasty looking staph infection all over his lower legs which I never, ever knew could happen from eczema. I guess while the skin maybe LOOKED somewhat OK (and it never looked PERFECT, just pretty decent) the itching was still there - he was still scratching - and literally over the course of one day ended up covered on what looked like red infected flea bites. He is on antibiotics for the staph, and we took him to a derm for something better for the eczema. Right now we're using a prescription ointment and once the worst is tamed, we were given some suggestions of OTC creams with ceremide in them, which is supposedly what you really need in a cream to treat eczema. I now find myself wondering if a lot of people who rave about these products for their eczema are actually just dealing with over-dry skin. I wanted this to work, and even thought it was working, but we will not go back to using this. We're going to be treating eczema a lot more seriously now. If this works for you, fabulous. But it you're seeing only "kind-of" results like we did, please take it seriously and try something else.

Helped with dermatitis and POD,
This review is from: California Baby Calendula Cream, 2 oz (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
I purchased this product from a health food store, as the price was considerably cheaper than Amazon's, but still spendy--its was worth it though! I have been struggling with perioral dermatitis since my daughter was born, and this has definitely helped. In addition, I dabbed a little on her neck for a few days when she developed a dermatitis there at 7 weeks old. It cleared up within three days. It has a mild, pleasant, herbal scent to it and is very soothing. Use sparingly, a little bit goes a long way--which I'm thankful for at the price!

Neither of my daughters had any skin conditions, other than periodic dry skin. I use this at nighttime before bed. The "calming" scent is wonderful and truly calming. I've been using it for years and my older (2 years) daughter loves to put it on, too. I use it as part of their bedtime ritual to get them ready for bed. All of the products by California Baby with the "calming" scent are great. I've also tried some of their other scents, which are nice, too. I believe they sell a sampler of body washes.

THIS HELPS TO CONTROL MY SON'S ECZEMA ALTHOUGH IT DOESN'T TAKE THE RASH AWAY OR HELP WITH THE ITCHINESS, BUT IT HELPS TO SMOOTH THE DRY SKIN AND TO KEEP THE SKIN FROM GETTING WORSE DURING FLARE UPS. I LOVE IT THAT IS IS RATED VERY LOW FOR CONSUMER TOXICITY ON CONSUMERDATABASE.COM

Best do-it-all cream ever!,

I love, love, love this product. I've been using it since my son was about 6 months old (that's when I discovered it) and am completely hooked. He's 19-months old now and I'm on my 4th jar.
It works great for everything from mild diaper rash (like when they get red and you want to catch it before it turns into diaper rash) to chapped cheeks to scrapes. And the smell is SO wonderful. I'm so glad that they started making their bath products in this scent too. HIGHLY recommend this product and California Baby in general!

Perfect cream for dry chapped hands,

I cannot say enough good things about this product. My child had very TOUGH dry skin from being outside a lot at preschool in snowy, cold and wet weather, and none of our moisturizers were helping. In fact, they would sting when applied to her hands.
I bit the bullet and got some of this cream, and voila, her hands are finally healing. It doesn't sting her hands when it's applied, and it even has a nice soft scent. It's made of natural, yet extremely effective, ingredients. I first noticed results within a day or two of applying the cream only twice a day. You can do it more often if necessary. The tough skin became more of a normal consistency, and now there is a "normal" dry skin layer on top of healthy skin which turns to white flakes (top layer) after the cream dries up. At the rate we're going, her skin will be back to normal within a week and half, and this was a severe case. If anything happens to the contrary -- skin not healing completely as expected -- I will be sure to update my post. Note, this listing is for a pack of two containers so the price is extremely fair. (I realizes that vendors can update prices at will, but at the time of my posting this is the case.)

Cures Cradle Cap!,
By Rex (New York, United States) - See all my reviews

This review is from: California Baby Calendula Cream, 2 oz (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
I bought this calendula cream after my friend recommended it to me and I am very glad that I did! My daughter is now 4 months old and she had horrible cradle cap on her scalp and ears. I use this cream everyday on her scalp and it has kept all of the cradle cap away for 8 weeks now. I have to use the cream behind her ears multiple times a day, and it is effective in this area as well. I also use it on her face when she cuts herself with her fingernails and it seems to speed along the healing process. I even used it on myself when I had a cut, and it actually felt much better.
The calendula cream has a pleasant, minty smell. The 2 pack is a better deal than buying them individually in the store. A little bit goes a long way. I use it everyday, and it has lasted me approx 2 months. I do not use it on my daughter's body because it is a bit pricey. I use Burt's Bees baby lotion for her dry skin. PROS: 1-keeps cradle cap away 2-lasts a long time 3-smells nice 4-no parabens CONS: 1-pricey, but you can save $$ when buying the 2 pack

Love this stuff! It's the only thing that calms my baby girls exzema....it's perfect for after swimming or when it gets really dry. I go through a jar a week! I reapply it after every diaper change to keep her extra soft!

Helps with Perioral Dermatitis,
By Kyla - stay-at-home mom of 3 boys (Sugar Land, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: California Baby Calendula Cream, 2 oz (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
I was recently diagnosed with perioral dermatitis and found some information on the internet saying that this cream would help. It does! I have been applying a prescription antibiotic cream at night given to me by my dermatologist, but even after two weeks it wasn't ridding me of the flaky patches on my face. Within three days of using this calendula cream, the flaky patches have disappeared. Maybe it's not the cure-all for POD, but it does help in addition to a prescribed cream to rid you of the scaly patches. Plus, the rest of my face feels and looks great as well!
