5.0 out of 5 stars ONLY thing that got rid of my daughters rash
After nearly spending $90 for a prescription cream for my daughter's yeast diaper rash, and trying seemingly everything on the market to clear it up, we found this and it worked! I can't say enough good things about this product. It's all natural and smells great.

3.0 out of 5 stars Diaper rash prevention, November 16, 2007
My son is cloth diapered, and we have used this product as a preventative to diaper rash during the night because it washes out of the cloth diapers well and does not impact their absorbancy. Smells nice too. During a recent move out of state, we had to use disposable diapers during our relocation process. My son immediately got a diaper rash due to his sensitivity to the disposable absorbants and such. When I used this on the already appearing diaper rash, it was very painful for him. It was apparent the cream was stinging the red skin. So I found that this is a great product for preventing diaper rash, but if you've already got a case of it, you might want to try something else for relief.

4.0 out of 5 stars soothing cream, March 8, 2010

This was our pick because we use cloth diapers, and this California Baby is supposed to be one of the best for the cloth diapers. We've had no problems in that regard at all - can't tell that it's left a residue or affected absorbency whatsoever. I can also say that this cream has done a great job for us of soothing irritated skin; redness has cleared up in one diaper change or two. It also smells pleasant and herbal rather than "medicine-y".

However, I don't think it's "heavy duty" stuff. It doesn't seem to be an effective wetness barrier, if that's what you need. (That's probably why it's OK for the cloth diapers!) I don't know if it would cure ongoing rash problems, as we really haven't had any. My guess is that different creams work the best depending on what the source of the problem is and perhaps on your baby's skin.

In short, I'd recommend this for soothing irritated skin, especially for users of cloth diapers. For us, that's enough to make it the only cream we've needed in 6 months.

3.0 out of 5 stars Only good for mild rash, April 20, 2011
This review is from: California Baby Diaper Rash Cream, Calming, 2.9 oz Tube (Health and Beauty)
My 7 month old son has had mild diaper rashes in the past where we used this product and it was great (since he was born). However, he now has his first major diaper rash (probably because he is on antibiotics for the first time) and this product has caused him pain. He actually had tried to escape from his own pain when I applied this ointment on his little red tush. I felt so bad. I liked it for mild redness, but I think with this heavier rash, it could actually cause pain.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE this natural product!, October 2, 2010
After suffering through numerous yeast infections with my 5 month old son, and spending weeks at a time covering him in Lotriman anti-fungal cream, I was looking for a more natural alternative to try to clear up the situation. The Lotriman did not even appear to be completely clearing up the yeast infections, and I had read several reviews of people who had luck with California Baby diaper cream, so I decided to give it a shot. In addition I switched to seventh generations diapers and Earth's Best wipes at the same time (I was using Huggies). Whether it's solely the new diaper cream, or a combo of that with the more "natural" diapers and wipes, my son's rash is looking much better over the last few days and we did it WITHOUT having to soak him with lotriman and a standard "pasty" diaper cream. I couldn't be happier! This diaper cream is also pleasant smelling, and spreads much more easily than standard creams. I've been using it at every diaper change, hope to just use at night once rash clears up as it is pricey (about twice as much as standard cream), but so far I've found it well worth the extra money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works wonders, September 26, 2010

This review is from: California Baby Diaper Rash Cream, Calming, 2.9 oz Tube (Health and Beauty)
This was purchased for me by my mom when I told her about my daughter's rash I couldn't get rid of any other way. Because I cloth diaper I needed something that works with those and this was recommended. One great perk was that it's available at Target so I didn't have to wait to get it.

I used it, along with the wash, and overnight her rash was practically gone! I was so happy. She tolerates changes much better now, unless she's hungry at the same time. She's naturally a red kid, but you can tell the difference. I was using just plain water before.

A little goes a long way too. I just put a dab on my fingers and it's enough for her whole booty. It smells wonderful and it's food grade ingrediants means it's edible(but I'm not going to try it out.)

Definitely recommended. Great for adult itchy skin too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for sensitive skin, June 30, 2009
This cream is great for irritated or sensitive skin - gentle enough for everyday use. I love how easily it can be applied and that a tiny bit goes a long way.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great on sensitive skin, June 30, 2009
This stuff is wonderful on irritated or sensitive skin, and I love that a tiny bit goes a long way. It goes on very smoothly and easily - unlike some other diaper rash creams/ointments that you have to really smear to apply them.

The one down-side that I've encountered is that if you want a thick protective barrier against wetness than you would probably want one of the thicker creams/ointments versus this one, but for just everyday use or to treat a rash this stuff is great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gentle on sensitive skin, June 30, 2009
This diaper rash cream is fabulous - very gentle on irritated or sensitive skin, and I love how smoothly it goes on and that a tiny bit goes a long way.

I wouldn't use it as a protective barrier against wetness - it doesn't provide a thick enough layer for that, but as a rash soother this stuff is great.
