California Baby Everyday Lotion - Calming, 6.5 Ounce

I buy from Amazon constantly, and am an Amazon Mom member as well as Amazon Prime. You can buy this product directly from the CB website for cheaper. Usually Amazon has prices that can compete with others, but definitely not in this case, so do your research!

i've done a lot of research to find safe products for my baby--free of parabens, phthalates and other harmful chemicals. i've tried tons of different safe baby products and most of them just don't work as well or smell really terrible. in the baby isle, i always skipped over the california baby products because they were so expensive. i started with their baby wash and liked it so i decided to try their lotion too and i absolutely LOVE it! it makes your skin SO SO SO SOFT and the smell is nice and light. before this lotion, i only used aquaphor on my baby's skin (recommended by his pediatrician for his eczema).

i've done a lot of research on baby products using the EWG's skin deep database (creating my own reports for products on in their database) to make sure to minimize the harmful products i use on my baby. aquaphor is rated a 2 out of 10 (the lower the number, the less harmful the product is) so i was ok with that, since a lot of even "natural" or "hypoallergenic" products rates at least a 3 or 4. california baby is even better--their lotions are all rated a 1 out of 10.

california baby is very pricey, but their products are truly safe for baby and work so well. i've yet to find any other product that compares.

I began using California Baby (CB) products during my third pregnancy after spending literally several hundred dollars on popular natural and organic toiletries as well as laundry detergents due to VERY severe pregnancy induced itching. Which unfortunately never resolved after delivery.

Fortunately, I finally gave in out of desperation and the astounding amount of positive reviews across the internet, and I tried CB lotion although I had already given up on anything helping. All the other products I had tried were also free of parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate, etc., so I had little hope of this one making a difference. Wow! Wow! Wow! I was truly impressed with this stuff. The itching was almost completely cleared up. I cannot think of a better way to describe how well this lotion absorbs except to say my skin seems to literally drink it. I live in a very humid area. Even during the summer when I would normally be sweating my lotion off some how I only seem to sweat.

I chose this particular scent (they have various scents or frangrance free also) first to use on my two year old also to help her relax at night even though I never could tolerate the smell of lavender very well. I just ordered another bottle of this because it seems over time I have become attatched to the lavender fragrence. Also this particular lotion is more soothing than the others I have tried, and it is not just the fragrence. It is actually calming to your skin! That to me makes it more unique than any other lotion I have ever used. There is no substitute. Not even one of the other CB lotions. They are all wonderful. This one just seems to go above and beyond the others.

Note: Of course with itchy skin any thing with any kind of scent or perfume is very likely to make it worse. California Baby uses essential oils to scent their products making it less likely to cause irritation. They have a website where you can read more about the ingredients.

i found this after researching baby products that are not toxic according to cosmeticsdatabase.com and discovering the johnson's products i was going to use were rated 6-7 on their level of toxicity. i am so happy with my choice to use this. i love knowing that i am using a product on my newborn that will not harm her and also smells so good. i love the all-natural ingredients which are safe to use on a newborn's sensitive skin, especially since their skin gets so dry and peely. i highly recommend this product and brand. i get compliments all the time on visiting family and friends on how good my baby smells too!

I got this to have a natural product for my baby. It is soft and has safe ingredients. My only complaint is that it smells a little like pledge or citronella.

I use this as a light bedtime massage lotion on my little one, and it works wonderfully, leaving him and his room lightly scented (NATURALLY) as he drifts off to sleep. The combination of the matching shampoo, this lotion and massage have helped him fall right to sleep. It's pricey, but worth it!

This lotion is amazingly gentle. It is organic and works miracles in a short time! Dryness and irritation disappear in hours. It brings relief fast. The smell is not strong, it is kind of herbal, so it may not be for everyone.

Considering how much lotion a baby uses, it's nice to find a lotion that is completely non-toxic. Who wants a bunch of chemicals soaking into their baby's skin? If you are familiar with the EWG website, you'll notice that this is one of the safest baby lotions available.

I've used quite a few natural baby lotions, and this is probably one of my favorite ones. It doesn't leave a greasy film. It soaks in completely. It does a great job of moisturizing skin. It doesn't sting small cuts and scrapes. It helps my daughter's skin when she's had some patches of eczema. Not only that, it smells REALLY nice. It's not overpowering whatsoever. It's very light, crisp and refreshing.

I also want to mention that you can also use this as your own facial lotion. I have dry skin that seems to break out when I use most natural lotions. However, I haven't ever experienced any skin break-outs as a result of this lotion.

I also wanted to mention that because this is free of preservatives - it doesn't have a long shelf life. When one of my bottles was around 7 months old, I noticed that it was beginning to smell a little sour. If you end up receiving quite a few of these bottles (if you end up with like, 5 at your baby shower for example) you may want to keep them in the fridge or make sure to use them up.

Since Johnson and Johnson revealed that they are slowy removing the toxin chemicals in their baby lotions and baby wash, we decided to switch to a safer more natural lotion. California Baby products have revealed that it does not carry toxins in all their products. The calming lotion smells great and it is a great everyday lotion. It is a thin lotion and absorbs well. The biggest CON for this lotion would be the price for a small 6.5 ounce bottle, expensive.

We got this becaue I'm a very stressed out mama and it is very calming the only issue is sometimes its got the weird lotion feel... Where it doesn't feel right when you rub it in.. Kinda like cheap lotion. Other than that it is good.
