5.0 out of 5 stars Sudsy
Very nice. I owned the California Baby Shampoo & Body Wash Calming - 17.5 OZ. - Liquid and after awhile I got tired of the lavender smell and it didn't foam up enough for me after my daughter was no longer a newborn and was in need of a good scrub. So I used just a little of this and it was nice and sudsy, no scent and it got her clean. Her little curls fluffed up and her...

1.0 out of 5 stars CHANGED FORMULA, January 20, 2012
I USED to love California Baby. But now they have changed their formula to include Sodium Benzoate.

From Natural News:

"Derived from a reaction of benzoic acid with sodium hydroxide, sodium benzoate is actually the sodium salt of benzoic acid. Sodium benzoate is a known carcinogenic additive which, when eaten or applied to the skin, gets transported to the liver, where it is supposed to be filtered, and expelled in urine, but the damage gets done before that process is completed.

Sodium benzoate chokes out your body's nutrients at the DNA cellular level by depriving mitochondria cells of oxygen, sometimes completely shutting them down. Just as humans need oxygen to breathe, cells need oxygen to function properly and to fight off infection, including cancer."

Even outside of that article there is great concern about the ingredient and cancer links. I will be returning my product and no longer purchasing from California Baby.

1.0 out of 5 stars Reformulated with a new label, January 23, 2012
This review is from: California Baby Super Sensitive Shampoo & Bodywash - 19 oz. (Baby Product)
Please be aware that CA Baby has reformulated numerous items in it's product line. Many soaps now contain sodium benzoate.

The new products have a different, updated label.

CA Baby has received numerous complaints on their facebook page, and have deleted them all!

Shame on California Baby.

I will no longer buy their products.

The old formula features the label show on this page.

1.0 out of 5 stars They reformulated this product with cheap and toxic ingredients - now rash and bumps!,, January 27, 2012
This review is from: California Baby Super Sensitive Shampoo & Bodywash - 19 oz. (Baby Product)
I am very unhappy with this product and even more so with the California Baby company. So I am editing my review. Last year, I gave this product 5 stars. The whole family used this Super Sensitive wash since my daughter was a baby and we gave it as gifts as well. I was so impressed with how gentle it was and now SURPRISE!!! Without telling their customers, they have reformulated and added Sodium Benzoate and who knows what else. - the company was not upfront about this nor were they about other ingredients in their products. I have just learned this recently. California Baby isn't cheap either, but we were buying a lot of it because we thought it was an excellent product. In the last 4 months, my daughter has developed little dry patches and tiny bumps all over her skin and I never guessed it was the wash. She's had this for months and she's been so itchy. I just put this together last night after seeing an article from a reliable source. I had been throwing away everything else because it never occurred to me that it would be this tried and true sensitive wash. SO now I am tossing ALL the California Baby products; shame and I loved their sunscreen too. Also, even though they added these new cheap ingredients I noticed they didn't lower the cost. Many of us paying for a premium low toxicity product for our families and they did the old switcheroo on us..... very deceptive and dishonest. Also, I don't ever remember CB doing any promotional sales for their customers. Customers don't come first with them. So I will find a new company, that's easy. Dolphin Organics is one that I heard good things about and so is Earth Mama Angel Baby. These two I plan to try soon.

1.0 out of 5 stars New Formula Causes Dry Itchy Skin, January 23, 2012
This review is from: California Baby Super Sensitive Shampoo & Bodywash - 19 oz. (Baby Product)
I used to love CB- until they reformulated their products using cheap, irritating ingredients and unnatural preservatives. My kids both have dry, rough patches after using this new formulation. There are other great alternatives for less money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ingredients incorrectly listed, NOT ALLERGY FREE, August 17, 2011
This review is from: California Baby Super Sensitive Shampoo & Bodywash - 19 oz. (Baby Product)
The shampoo's and conditioners all contain corn derivatives. This is not listed on Amazon or even the companies website. They refer you to this site to check ingredients. [...]
This also leaves out the corn product, which is printed very clearly on the back of every sample I purchased. I about scratched my scalp off after the first try. I was totally confused, as to why this would be, until I checked the back of the bottle. I would have never have purchased this had I Known it contained corn which is one my worst allergies. While this is a great product for many many people, I give it 1 star due to lack of correct ingredient listings and the claim to be "allergy free". It is not.

1.0 out of 5 stars loved the old formula, January 25, 2012
This review is from: California Baby Super Sensitive Shampoo & Bodywash - 19 oz. (Baby Product)
We've been using CA baby for the past 14 months. We are saddened and disappointed to learn that they have decided to change the formula for this product.

We are looking for a new bath product for our son.

1.0 out of 5 stars Why fix it if it isn't broken?, January 22, 2012
This review is from: California Baby Super Sensitive Shampoo & Bodywash - 19 oz. (Baby Product)
I use to be a long time customer of California baby until they recently made changes in this product. They added Sodium Benzoate, a cheap preservative to their body washes now. If you are looking for a totally organic "natural" baby product this is not it. I purchased this body wash a few weeks ago and couldn't believe how watered down the product was, in my opinion their prices are too steep for me to buy something with extra added water to it and an ingredient that I don't want near my toddler!

Earth Mama-Angel Baby Organic Angel Baby Shampoo & Body Wash, 5.3 fl oz (160 ml) If you are wanting something that is totally free of nasty chemicals, check this out. We love it!

2.0 out of 5 stars Changes there prodct, January 21, 2012
This review is from: California Baby Super Sensitive Shampoo & Bodywash - 19 oz. (Baby Product)
Be careful before you buy this again. They changes the ingredients and added some things that are making people break out and dry out there skin. I wish they would have just left this product alone! I loved it but now I am searching for a new one that is real organic. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT

1.0 out of 5 stars New Formula contains irritants!, February 28, 2012

Jen V (Sarasota, FL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: California Baby Super Sensitive Shampoo & Bodywash - 19 oz. (Baby Product)
The new formula is nothing like the old wonderful product. The company changed the formula and did not label it as new on the bottle. My fingertips came out in hives from opening the seal! I am glad it was my hands and not my head. Read the new ingredients carefully before putting this on your skin!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sudsy, February 23, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: California Baby Super Sensitive Shampoo & Bodywash - 19 oz. (Baby Product)
Her little curls fluffed up and her toes smelled clean. She's nine months old as I write this. Don't get me wrong the other stuff is great which is why I stayed with California Baby. I do recommend it as well but I did like the suds and the scent free. Oh and a little goes a long way. Should last you six months bathing every other day.
