I bought this Julius Caesar costume to take on a cruise. It was the last week of October, so there was a Halloween party onboard. I liked this costume because it didn't take up much room in luggage and I could use the sandals I was bringing anyway. Quality of material & workmanship is quite nice for the price, although the laurel crown is very cheesy. It's not the "U-shaped" one shown in the illustration, but a headband that goes all the way around, consisting of giant gold mylar "leaves" all connected on the inside to an elastic band. I plan to replace this before using the costume again. I might have to make my own using one of my wife's hairbands to hold some more realistic-looking laurel leaves. Also, a few sequins fell off, but otherwise everything held together very well.

This costume requires frequent attention while wearing it because the red part that drapes over the white tunic tends to slip off the shoulder and you have to be careful not to drop the part that drapes over the left arm. I might use a few carefully-placed safety pins next time.

Overall, I was very satisfied with the costume and it got lots of compliments. I was also one of the few dozen guests chosen by the cruise staff for an invitation to compete in the costume contest (but washed out in the second round of voting).

If you order this don't expect it to be of the greatest quality but know that it'll do for a night. I found that the robe was a bit to big for me but whenI wrapped the belt around it held well. I recommend a safety pin to keep the belt in place and another one or two to keep the robe in the right place if need be.

Makes for a good drinking costume as it's not complicated and it comes off easy if you know what I mean ;)

When I was reviewing the item before buying, I was skeptic about the material as it is polyester, however, once I got the item its a very well made polyester, soft, nice and non itching, and it looks elegant, only the belt is big on me, but its easy to fix it

Good quality (except for the flimsy grape leaves for your head). I ended up not wearing it for Halloween because it was too big for me (it's unique size and I'm 5'9''). I guess you have to be 6'5'' or taller for it to look good on you.
