I live in California's Gold Country and I know a great deal about our history. This book is a very welcome addition to my my small library. It is the dearest of all my books due to my kinship for the Kentucky Mine which is the covers photograph (in Sierra County, CA).

I love history so this is a great book on the history of the gold rush. I went to the gold country and read the book as I went from town to town. I could see just what the book was saying..
