I had forgotten where I ordered spray millet last time and gave the CA millet a shot thinking I was saving a few bucks. The individual stems (stalks) are broken and crumbly and do not smell that fresh. Even the finches didn't get excited. They usually pick it clean fairly quickly. Not this time. In researching receipts I found that I had ordered it from Wisconsin Spray Millet the previous time. The millet was beautiful, intact, and smelled as if it was fresh from the farm. And now I find they are selling a 6 lb. box for the 5 lb. price of $16.25. I'll most likely return this to Amazon and replace it with the Wisconsin Spray Millet.

Update: Yeah, stay away from this product. Crumbles and breaks at the slightest touch and my finches barely touch it. (I've got a box full of broken and crumbly stalks.) Now that it's snowing, I've been putting it outdoors and even the wild birds take several days to pick it clean.

I have ordered spray millet for my birds for many years from a variety of sources. California Golden Spray Millet is the best according to aviary occupants. The sprays are plump and fresh, and have become my birds favorite treat. I will continue to order this excellent product.

I couldn't believe the size and quality of this millet when it arrived. My little cockatiel is hog heaven. Great product.

Just received my millet, the stalks are huge, fat bunches. I have cockatiels and zebra finches. They dove right in as soon as i hung them. I have purchased from this supplier before and have always been happy.

First time buying spray millets from amazon.com for my canaries; used to buy bagged millets from pet supply stores and wanted to see if these boxed ones are any better/cheaper. Well, cheaper definitely they are, but next time i'm trying a different brand; sprays are very, very dry, bare in spots, NOT golden and extremely fragile; they break so easily that the bottom part of the box is full of broken sprays. I really wonder if those 5 star reviews are posted by actual customers or the seller.

Good Fresh Healthy millet for my birdies. This is better than anything you can buy in big box stores. I find this same brand at a local pet store for 10 dollars more. This is the best brand around.

My babies are singing a happy tune with their delicious millet!! Don't be fooled by cheap imitations -- the REAL California Spray is delivered in a bright yellow box, full of plump and tatsy goodies for the birds. Mine won't go near anything else, even in desperation! The very best of quality.

I've ordered this spray a few times now, and have NOT been disappointed! Fast delivery, too! I have bought other spray millets, and my birds didn't seem to like them much. But this one they gobble up! The sprigs are HUGE and fat...NOT skinny like some of them are!

I've been buying the California Spray Millet for years at a pet store. Since I moved away I can't find it in Colorado. All the cockatiels I ever owned loved this spray millet. That is their favorite treat. My latest cockatiel Felix - you try and take his treat away when its been all eaten - he puts his claw on it not wanting to let it go. He gets so excited when he gets a FRESH new stick. Never mind that person with the negative attitude - this is the BEST and FRESHEST Millet spray and you will NOT be disappointed.

My parakeets love seed spray and it is good for them nutritionally, especially if soaked for 2 hours before giving to them. It is cheaper to buy this qauntity than to buy the stale stuff in the store.
