From Alder to Yerba Santa, with more than a hundred plant species in between, this book is a charming and factual source of botanical history. Each herb is completely described by where it grows, what it looks like, and its history of use.

Covers many plants, but not in-depth enough.,
By A Customer
This review is from: California Herbal Remedies: The History and Uses of Native Medicinal Plants (Paperback)
This book discusses many plants used in California by the indians and settlers, but provides little information to aid the reader in making any kind of teas, tinctures, etc. from the plants discussed. So while you may read that a plant was used for headache, the book does not provide enough of the "how".
