About the Author
Charles Dodd is a writer with trail dust on his boots. A former director of the Oregon-California Trails association, he often gives talks interpreting the California Trail and frequently serves as a Trail guide. Thomas H. Hunt assisted in the preparation of this publications by selecting quotations and reviewing the text. Jeff Gnass travels extensively throughout the continent photographing scenic and historic places, and documenting our heritage lands. Since first picking up a large-format camera in 1978, his images have graced thousands of pages in books, calendars and magazines.
