This is the most up-to-date & complete guidebook available at this time, there is no reason to purchase any other California Fly Fishing Guidebook. It is complete with maps, descriptions of the locations, seasonal differences which affect fishing, and fly patterns.

I am new to fly fishing and this has been an excellent resource on where to fish, what shops are located where, and suggestions on a few guides to help learn. I really liked the time table of what types of hatch's are happening during the year so I could match.
